Whilst not a specific recommendation, I think this is a good website for finding campsites in Provence. It concentrates on the western side of Provence (Luberon and area). It gives a thumbprint for each site, and then a click takes you to the sort of details you want to know, in English.
I'm sure there are others with more recent knowledge of sites - it's a long time since we were there, although we did veture further east into Provence the year before last.

That's a useful list which Val has given you. It's an area we know very well.
Our own favourite on that list was Camping Municipal les Chalottes at Murs (the photos tell you why) and the one where we drove around, shook our heads and left was Airotel la Sorguette (at twice the price) We
also know of several other small privately owned sites too - but bigger than CLs - which aren't on the list at all. but we rather like.So what sort and style of site are you looking for? There are all sorts.

We stayed at Les Coutelieres at Lagnes between Carpentras and Cavaillon last year and liked it. More information about the site and the area is in my blog

Cartledge, one of those small private sites I mentioned in my earlier post is Camping les Cerisiers at Robion - has 25 pitches, swimming pools, free wine and cherries if you stay more than 3 days, glowing reviews from French visitors on Trip Advisor, no English visitors, price 15 euros in June Including electrics, not in ACSI scheme therefore quiet.
The website is worth looking at, but don't tell too many other people.

Thank you all for your most helpful posts. We are sunning ourselves in New Zealand at the moment, on Waiheke Island. So it will be great to checkout all your recommendations and dream of Provençal sunshine when we have to return to the grey skies of home
in ten days time.Best wishes
Peter.

Thank you Eurotraveller. Probably something without too many 'activities', a pool is unnecessary, a simple rural place to eat local cuisine, not too far away if we can't be bothered to cook, not too challenging to access with a trailer caravan, a simple
shop nearby for bread. More facilities a bit further away like a supermarket would be fine. We plan to be near Millau before heading for Provence, so no more than say 200 miles or so from there.Peter.

If that is the Dutch owned site which takes the ACSI card, then I'd advise booking ahead. It's nearly always full, we once turned up on spec one May and it was full for the foreseeable.
A much better site IMHO in that area is the one at Aubignan, also with views of Mont Ventoux, but not as packed as the one in Mazan.
In the Luberon itself we have stayed on the municipal at Apt a few times. Basic site, no pool. Apt is a wonderful town with a fabulous market. Another site is an ACSI site at Mallemort (Camping Durance Luberon). Has a pool, and extremely huge pitches.

Peter, in 2014 we stayed at Camping Bregoux at Aubignan. It not really Luberon, but is N of Carpentras towards Mt Ventoux. We have stopped there many times and it suits us. It's close enough to the Luberon for us to travel in as we did in 2014. Please see HERE for some photos of the area etc. You will need to sift through though. I can recommend driving up Mt Ventoux.
