Brittany Ferries Club Voyager Spain

We usually go to northern France in June, but this year we're considering getting the ferry down to Santander and visiting points further south in France. Later in the year - probably September.

The return ferry costs are something like £1,000 but I see I can join Club Voyager for a total of £220 and get a discount of 30% on the fare (plus other discounts on food etc). This ferry would presumably need to be booked direct with BF - CC prices are a little cheaper but nowhere near the £700 odd we'd be paying with the discount.

So joining seems an obvious move - I assume others have done this but would welcome views.

Ian, remember that overnight cabins remain at full price - the 30 % discount only applies to the base fare. But still probably worth your while.

But do you also want to return via Spain rather than driving up through France?

We were looking at Portsmouth/Santander and Caen/Portsmouth and the cost of joining Club Voyage was not financially viable

I find Brittany Ferries Club Voyager very good value - and you get 10 % discount in the restaurant!

We are thinking of both directions at the moment as we're not that keen on one-night stops.

Yes, the discount in the restaurant is well worth while!

Why are you thinking of one night stops, are you in a hurry?

If you are going to France wouldn't the Bilbao ferry be the better bet?  although I would still choose a French port for France.

Not in a hurry but these days we like to settle in somewhere for a week or so and soak it up rather than being constantly on the move. In the past we've travelled the length and breadth of France with overnight stops but like to be more relaxed now.

Yes possibly - early stages at the moment.

Why isn't the quote thing working properly????

As we go down to Biarritz every year and at least one of the crossings is to Spain (mostly Santander) I joined Club Voyage (Spain) a few years ago. The joining fee in the first year made it slightly more expensive but after that I'm quids in.  30% of Spanish
    crossing and 15% off French.

Additionally, any friends or guests  can get 10% discount and take ups will  reduce my renewal

I think the 10% discount only applies in the restaurant not the cafeteria. (Excuse m for being a cheapskate!).

When we  have used it sailing to France as both an associate member and a friend of family , you can get the 10 % discount in any of the on board restaurants and bars when you spend over £15.00 , it just not on the le havre sailing as they reckon you have
already got a good deal !

We use it every year now and as an associate you get a free breakfast too !

Tammy, I don't know about others, but I can't even get to the 'quote' stage. Hasn't been working for days. Someone on the chat facility told me to phone in instead and then disconnected.Undecided

I was refering to the "Quote" button on CT as in if you wish to "quote" someone like I have just done with your post.

However I have just tried doing a dummy booking on the CC ferry page and had no problem, maybe its working nowUndecided

Going back to the OP, I've never looked at joining Club Voyager until this post but having looked into it now I wish I had done so before booking my ferryFrown
I will certainly be doing so in the future when travelling to France, as M/H's don't get that great an offer from the Club. If we are going to be using BF to France twice a year then the savings are much better joining the Voyager Club.

So thank you iansoady for bringing this to everyones attention.Smile

I joined last year. The savings I made on Portsmouth Caen return with the caravan paid for a crossing on the motorbike going out through Caen and back via Bilbao. Got a free day cabin on the France crossings too.
