I suspect there are several others which are reducing the number of touring pitches, and increasing the number of mobile homes.

I too have been looking through the ACSI guide; one site which is new to ACSI (although it hasn't got the "new" logo with its entry), is La Ferme des Aulnes, page 50, nr 1267. This is a site we have sometimes used for 2 or 3 nights on the way home, and
always accepted Camping Cheques. I will be very interested to see the 2016 CC guide too, to see whether it still will accept CC for 2016, or just ACSI.The other site which we use CCs for isn't in the ACSI scheme for 2016 (maybe 2017??!!), so i can still use my leftover cheques there next year. But I won't be needing to buy any more cheques at this rate.....

Yes, it was. We stayed there a couple of years ago on an overnighter prior to going to the tunnel. Felt a bit run down to me (was no longer a CC site then) appeared to be used a lot for the nearby Kent showground. Toiletblock seemed to have seen better
days, but looking at the website there appears to be a new block now. No hardstandings from what I remember.0 -

Would agree the pitches are not great but there are a number of H/S and being open all year was very handy, we were there for 3 days and it was busy with new folk arriving and departing

There is a site at Sully sur Loire which is open all year. It took the ACSI card for a number of years, then one year it dropped out of ACSI, I think it was 3 years ago. The next year it was back in, and is still in for 2016. It's still open all

Many years ago when I visited SW France in early June for the first time, I was surprised at the mind-set that prevailed that the season wasn't due to start "so early". The temperatures were roasting yet they didn't seem to want to capitalise on the weather.

I agree with you especially in Spain a lot of sites seem to be going the mobile / bungalow route

Taking into account new sites, and taking off those which have dropped out, the total number of sites accepting the ACSI Card has increased by around 200 this year.

Whether it's the tablet I'm using, I don't know, but when I want to quote a message in my reply, the box stays blank. So I try again and when I click on reply, there they are, 2, 3, or more! Must be a gremlin, have edited them out now.

A site only has to have about 25 extra night stays a month in the off season at the €14 rate to break even. It probably also takes a year or two for the number of visitors to build up. Perhaps the campsites are concerned about paying the fee and not getting
extra visitors so they don't see it as a good investment. Or perhaps they spend a year or two in the system and then feel they can manage without the scheme?David

And a site like Le Letty - hugely popular and expensive at full price in summer - is only opening from 20 June to 4 September 2016 and not bothering with either of the ACSI or Camping Cheque discount schemes. For them it's full price or close the shop.
