I just noticed that on the thread “I Love Dogs Me” the OP by Rocky has 20 likes.Cool

That’s an incredible amount of likes, or so I thought, until I checked the old thread “Sunday departures on Club sites” and the OP has got 261 likes. This must surely be a record, or is it?Undecided

Good point Nevers, whichever way you cut it-Dogs & the love of them is still quite niche but the Sun Deps thread was open to everyone with wifi & an opinion. I miss the Sun Deps thread, always controversial & always funLaughing

IMO  "LIkes" is the method of choice for the "Star Chasers". Does not mean it's a good thread. ----On the other hand interesting threads will always get a good following and posters will respond with posts rather than "Likes".

The Sun Deps discussion, which a couple of posters have raised earlier in this thread, was all good fun at the start, until a few people started taking the huff. ----Then it became boring and repetitive. ---Good for the Star Chasers but that's all,-- but not good for the forum. ---Best leave it to die in peace.

    Cheers...................K

"Likes" are biased.  There is no "dislike" button (apart from clyping to the monitors)

Your posts very likely did get the most 'posts' in response, Ian, because you needed to be reminded of the rules. Likes, is another matter entirely.Happy

This is where the inconsistency is on CT , TF started a thread here ( how do we move on) and it was moved ,but this one is about the use of CT and doesn't get moved , I'm all ears for an explanation Cool

The way I would explain it is that the post about likes is just an observation about people liking posts. It wasn't about whether we should have likes which would have been better in the other section. TF's thread was about, as far as I can see,  how the forum develops so it was certainly moved to the correct section.

The thing that I hate about 'likes' is that when I look for recent postings I get pages (and often pages) of 'Likes' before I find a new post!

A 'like', apart from gaining the clickers a point towards their star rating, merely saves one from having to invent an original response to the posting that is not a repetition of an earlier comment.

Saying that must have gained me an extra point!
