iPad Stuck?

Hailing iPad users - my iPad has decided to go on strike - the screen shows the icons - its 93% charged - but nothing moves - I can't click on icons or move the screen to a different place.  I have tried switching off and left it for an hour - but nothing
seems to work.  It was working first thing but then I tried to change from one app to another and nothing.  Any help would be much appreciated.   (I am on the laptop atm.)

Not sure if this will help - but have you tried connecting it to your computer and looking at it in Itunes?

I updated mine to the latest iOS this morning and after "an unexepected erroor" disconnected then reconnected and all went well.

    Try a hard reset

Reset iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Reset iPad settings

Switch it off for a few hours then switch it on again.----------- If the fault persists :-

Do a factory reset.- ( hope you've been taking backups of your data) - If that does not cure the problem, take it to an Apple repair centre.

    Cheers ................ K

Thanks all - MeatHome's answer worked fine - and it is a timely reminder to back up!

It's happened to me before on the iPad and on my iPhone and on a Samsung Tab. The hard reset fixed it every time.
