Lovely day again, dry and sunny though getting colder.
Unrolled the Caravanstore to let it dry out completely, then after a few hours got it off the van for winter. Now all rolled up and waiting to go up in the loft.
Water all drained down, but still a few odds and ends to bring inside. Almost time to book the next service in February, our dealer tends to get booked up well ahead.

started to do the same as you K. Beats me how, when the last time we used the canopy it went away dry, it's now all wet again!

Just had DD on the phone, she has been out looking at toilet seats and has discovered her toilet is an Ideal Standard "Concept" model, so OH has found a soft close seat for it on e bay..........."only" just under £70
She has also found some tiles she likes for her kitchen, so I will need to go down there and measure up for her. Sounds like I am in for a busy time soon. She also wants some switches fitted for her under-cupboard lights, so is looking for some to match
her fancy socket plates.I will be glad when it is time to get away in the van again!!

It's absolutely packed with people in the town centre this evening. The trees are all lit up as well. We're in the process of collecting a Macdonalds order after an hour and a half break in the caravan. So we had time for tes and a toasted ham and cheese
sandwich.0 -
Raked some leaves today.
Saturday is usually a flying day, but didn't like the look of all that wind. Out of interest, I plotted a route from our home airfield down to Wellesbourne (near Statford on Avon). The software, very clevely, obtains forecast wind and works out the flight
time.It said about 1.25 hours to get there (pretty good for a journey that would take 2.5 hours in the car and included detours around East Midlands and Birmingham zones)........but a bladder-stretching 3.5 hours for the return journey!
Anyway, finished packing the car and caravan, ready for the off tomorrow........boy was it cold out there. Cannot believe we were gardening in shirt sleaves earlier this week.

Think you may have to book a trip away now, KjellNN , that way you know you'll get a break from the DIY.

Unfortunately we have far too much on in the next few months to fit in any trips away, winter is our time at home to catch up on all the jobs and spend time with family. As are July and August, when we do outside stuff on our own house.
Probably no trips now till the schools go back after Easter, then we will be away till early July.
Depending on several things, we might manage to fit in a couple of weeks away in March......maybe.

ABM - I don't like feeding them all year as I think that the young ones should learn to find natural food for themselves, especially when it's plentiful and so I start feeding them when times start getting hard for them so they don't waste precious energy
looking for it but I understand and don't condone anyone who does feed them all year like yourself. In addition we tend to spend up to nearly 20 weeks a year caravanning and my MIL has some serious arthritic problems with her hands so I don't want to put her out.
Glad to see anybody helping the little fliers out though.

We've just been shopping and bought a joint of roasting beef for our Sunday lunch tomorrow plus some frozen Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puddings. We couldn't quite finish all the shopping because a delivery call came. So we still need to buy some horseradish sauce.

Cold but dry day so we decided to walk from the van. Managed a couple of 3 mls walks returning to the van inbetween to do a clothes wash. Most of clothes dried quite well outside before airing off in the van. Got back in time to see most of the Wales/Australia
match. Not the most inspiring of games, unforunately. Thought about watching the England/Scotland rugby league game but decided not to bother and searched for more CLs on line instead, much more entertaining!!0 -
Well a better day for our son in hospital today! The doctor agreed that perhaps the drug that was administered yesterday was not for him so heading for a plan b!
Looking at discharge on Monday!
Fingers crossed that all goes well for you all.

Wherenext, Don't get me wrong-- they don't get a full sunday lunch job every day, it's just enough and no more
. but they seem to be breeding well enough round here, on the edge of Crewe. Never far from the open country, indeed close
enough for them to learn the dangers of Sparrow Hawks, etc etc.My latest job has been to replace the R S P B "Roosting Pockets" for a little added protection thro the winter when the bushes have thinned down a bit.

We've got up to a lovely sunny morning. It's our last day here at Northbrook Farm CC site. It closes tomorrow.

We'll be off to Littlehampton CC site tomorrow for two nights. We'll have to time our departure and arrival times carefully though because we have to be off this site by 12 noon but we are not allowed to arrive at Littlehampton before 12 noon. Yet it's a very short journey that can be completed in very little time. There is a layby en route on the A27 between Worthing and before the turn off to Littlehampton. It has a snack bar as well. We might have to make use of it to fill time! Anyway, we've got the day off work tomorrow.
Previously, we used to work on our moving day but since I've started getting my state pension, we take the day off everytime we move. Otherwise, it's nigh on impossible to manage the timing correctly if we have to start work at 12!

Write your comments here...I agree. It's definitely turned a lot colder but I prefer it to the summer heat. Somehow the cold gives me more energy!

Whilst walking on Carlton Marshes yesterday met a lovely lady who was sketching the landscape, she has set herself a challange of sketching a picture every day for a year. have a look at her website below:

We're cooking our Sunday lunch at the moment using the electric oven. It's Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, roast potatoes and vegetables. We bought some horseradish sauce and English mustard on the way home last night and we've got Bisto gravy granules.

The forecast last night was for a dismal wet day down here, so when I got up to make a cuppa and saw that it was dry and bright I actually persuaded Mrs M that it would be a good idea to take the dogs up to the dunes before breakfast. Boy, was it cold up there with a biting wind blowing off the sea. But we stayed dry and met a good number of other dog walkers with the same idea, including a couple with a 10 month old Irish Setter which they've called Malbec! So I'm thinking maybe Shiraz or Merlot if we ever take on another red!

Which sites will you be using over the winter Malc? I hope you will not be needing to commute long distances this year.
