Van's away until next year, all safely tucked up in a waterproof overcoat. Roll on April's sunshine!
What's wrong with caravanning in the winter sun? Can well be the best and driest time of the year.

It gets dark about 4.00pm - 4.30pm. Cant' go out for an evening walk. Dont see the point in being in the caravan from 4.00pm each evening.
Plenty of time during the day for a walk, and if you're using somewhere like Ferrymeadows you can alway have a walk through the park in the near dark. Out in the country, well away from towns, it's great to go out and view the dark skies.

We have been home since end of September. I did think about going away again but as I have had 4 hospital appointments a couple of Doctors visits and a blood test to fit in since then it was not very practical. Another blood test next week and a dental appointment
folowed the next week by a visit to doctors for a tablet review and also retina pics to be taken October is pretty booked up. Some financial stuff to deal with in the first couple of weeks of November and yet another hospital appointment 24th November. By
then there will be 2 weeks until our 15 night Christmas when we will planning our 3 trips for next year.. Looking forward to por Christmas break as I enjoy spending time with OH in the caravan and although it's dark by 4pm we will usually be out for much
of the day until 3pm. Would not do as much at home. Whilst we are at home it gives me chamce to catch up with my two daughters and two grand kids - also our friends.0 -

Same here but hopefully we shall be away again as soon as the clocks go forward in the spring.
We are away now and then again in December, always enjoy the autumn and winter caravaning.

We collected our new portable electric oven with grill and two hobs today. So now we can do all our cooking on electric.
Well done Malcolm.......how much are those ovens?
Write your comments here...£59.99 from Robert Dyas store in the Worthing town centre. Yesterday afternoon, we roasted some sweet chestnuts in it. My wife thought they were delicious. She had gathered them from the ground outside our caravan. There are plenty there because of the sweet chestnut tree just in front of our awning.

We feel as ABM, would love to be away now looking at the blue sky and russet leaves from our window at home. Oh well! OH foot/ankle op means 6 weeks non weightbearing so getting frustrated 3 weeks in !! Taking the opportunity to get the van problems
(fridge, solar panel, and hopefully floor) dealt with at the dealers so come next March we'll be fit and ready to go. Planning next year to fill the time.0 -

Thank you Millie. Think we will have to start saving, as we thought it would be nice to go to Ireland next year. Will be after hints and tips for NI if we do.

Write your comments here...It saves money in gas, H&T. At £23 per cylinder every six to nine months, the saving in gas will literally pay for the new cooker in two years!

Slow start to morning, aren't they dark??? Had a great couple of weeks away. Uncle beginning to settle nicely. Have read through posts and glad to catch up with everyone's goings on but not sufficient time to comment individually on earlier posts, but congrats
commiserations as appropriate.Must get back into getting chores done again, washing done and dried ironing calling. Along with food shopping, birthday present thinking for hubby idea in place but have to drag him to the shops for him to choose. First have to get him to agree he needs
.Good to catch up on here, no proper WiFi whilst away and mobile data saved for family conversations

Easterly wind here at Burnham on Crouch so hopefukly more rarities to come, alas for AD no flying pigs
Chilly 20 miles inland in Essex so must be worse on coast. Should be plenty to see and watch even if not rarefied. Lovely site well sheltered though from some directions. Was hoping to get another visit in but alas..... Have a great time.
