Fantastic evening.  Volunteered to drive the minibus to the new local Hindu Temple (an ex pub outside Yarmouth) so that the Cubs could learn for the world faith badge.  The people at the temple extended a very warm welcome and the young people gave presentations
explaining their faith etc.  Think I may return for the Dawali celebrations.

Thanks to those who've sent good wishes to my son.  More house hunting today - and seen two lovely places, so now it's down to heart over head.

One place is a really good price, beautifully finished, but a 'family' home with a garden, but in an unattractive location, the other a wonderful duplex in a 'mansion' set in parkland and a real 'swish' batchelor pad with a great address!  He's still making
his mind up, so a second viewing is on the cards for tomorrow evening.

He needs some emotional support so will appreciate your proxy good wishes!  I'll let you know when it's all decided!

I just got up and I'm having my first cup of tea whilst posting on here. There was a bit of rain when I got up but it's stopped now. Nearly 6 a.m. but dark. I miss the lighter mornings!

I didn't get any reply from Chipping Sodbury Caravans about fixing the aircon, so I decided to contact the Truma factory in Derbyshire. They were much more helpful and have booked us in for 10th November. This means a forthcoming trip to the Peak District.
I'm looking forward to it, especially as it means a couple of days off work in a place with beautiful scenery!

Just about back to normality after our Canadian adventure. We've spent most of the week getting the garden back under control - why does everything grow so much faster when you're not at home to control it!!

Must say the holiday hasn't done much for my bowling - 3 consecutive defeats this week - none of them even close. Sad. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

We're off to Salisbury tonight to see Irish folk band Dervish at the Arts Centre. Tomorrow it'll be down to The Mem to witness the ritual humiliation of the mighty Gillngham ...

...oh, and just remembered it's Mrs M's birthday next week - better get something sorted out for that (although she's opted for a "girls" (I use the term very loosely!) night out rather of spending it with her nearest and dearest)! Wink. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

A quiet day, with nothing out of the ordinary happening. But tonight we're heading over to Sedbergh for a meal at The Three Hares. Very good food, not run of the mill recipes. Locally sourced and worth going to if you're in the area.

The CL was everything we wanted from a CL and the owner was a lovely lady. I hope as a new venture that they are well supported because they desreve to be. I'll be doing a review in due course.

Glad you liked it. We'll certainly use it again when we're down that way. Hopefully they'll have the H/S pitches available over the winter.

How's the new car performing? Hope you pushed the dealer for some freebies for the way you were messed around. Still at Penrith?

The new car's going fine so far. Running up a few miles while here at Penrith before heading up to D&G again with the van. 2 more sites booked, both H/S & EHU, and no problem getting in.You'd like the CL we're on at Penrith too.

Do they have a site, or area where you can pitch up, while sorting out the aircon? If not have you found a site close by that you can use? Hope that it all gets sorted out in the end.

Cloudy start to the day but sun finally came out late in the afternoon. Stocking-up shopping this morning...Home Bargains, Iceland & Aldi, then on to Lowther Castle. Well worth a visit as they've done a lot more there since our last visit, August last year,
opening a small exhibition and built one of the best childrens' play castle that we've ever seen, among other things.

I've got up, made a pot of tea and just finished my first cup. My wife's still asleep so I'm enjoying a bit of peace and quiet whilst posting on here.

The boss was away yesterday so it was the chief boss managing the shift which meant having to get used to his different ways of processing the orders. I get double the work of updating the computer order as well as texting him to tell him what I've done
and he insists on my location being enabled  so that he can see my movements. Talk about being controlled! This is on top of collecting the food and driving to the customer address to complete the delivery.
