Busy trying to keep the peace, 2 very excited tired granchildren. Poor Mum and Dad packing and re-packing 4 large suitcase to get the weights right, then it was onto the hand baggage, they all have 10kg each but kids bags only weigh 3kg, kids won't let Mum & Dad  put stuff in their bags (because its theirs) oh dear parents these days take so much stick off their kids that I'm sure we never put up with. I've had to walk out of the room several times as I think they might have one less child to take to Malta otherwise Surprised only another 21 hrs until they leave for the airport Smile Dad and Grandad now gone into town to get Euros, they've taken the kids with them, with a bit of luck they will manage to lose them Wink how did I ever manage to do 17 moves back and forth from europe with my 2 boys, either I had more patience then or they were better behaved (the latter I suspect) By the time they go we will be very much be needing our holiday away.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable break at Yellowcraig CC in North Berwick. We had never been before but we were pleasantly surprised wha. A beautiful little town also there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. We got decent weather so I got
out a cycle and we managed to do dinner on our Cadac each night we were thereCool I suspect the Cadac eill be away now for the winter. We had a nice
2 and a half hoir drive home today managing to avoid most of the roadworks on the M8. Due to relatives visiting and a family wedding we wont be away in the van now for 3 weeks. Hope everyone else had a lovely weekend too

    The "diet" starts every Monday......

Just back from checking the 'van before our next trip - Strathclyde country park site. An area I've never been to before, driven past many times, but never stopped over. We've tickets for the Celtic v Man City game, really looking forward to that one.

Strathclyde Park is one of our regular sites as it is close to home. We stayed there om Thirsday night and they are doing alot of road works around the site so there is some noise at night but if you pitch to the side closest to the actual park you will
be fine. It is a nice site Im sure you will enjoy your stay there

Try to keep calm and say nothing that will damage your family relatonships. Surprised Can't be easy but it will pass.  Keeping it zipped
with family relationships is damned tough!  If you managed 17 moves with children you are 'battle hardy'.  You may well be right with your observations but I couldn't possibly commment

Thanks Bakers, I think everyone is tired and I'm sure the parents are feeling nervous. Its a big thing leaving everything behind, job, house, family etc and starting all over again in a differant country (but then you know that) I keep going out into the
garden when things get a bit  heavy Wink

Keep biting your tongue tammy girl. I often say that dealing with family relationships is like walking on eggshells. Send them off with a smile and a cheery wave.Laughing Best
of luck and look forward to your holiday.

We moved on yesterday to Honfleur. Short hop for us, over the Pont de Normandie (never fails to impress!)

Arrived at our site about 11 ish (not a problem of course) and chose our pitch.

Lovely site this, heated pool, petanque, gym etc. Toilets and showers better than most have at home. Great restaurant and take-away on site (a chap just told me to only order a single portion of moules as there is plenty for two.....for about £7).

Cost of site? It's under £14 per night. Oh and 7 nights for the price of 6. Oh and free wifi. Oh and free use of all the leisure facilities. Oh and the sun is shining Laughing

Off for a walk round the beautiful harbour now.

Went round to Port Solent to do a leaflet drop at the Oyster Quay apartments. It's like Fort Knox. Keycode entry and no external mailboxes so I've brought them all back again. Frown

Did see an egret and a lot of oystercatchers rummaging on the mudflats. Heard a curlew but didn't spot it.

Last day at the Norfolk Broads site today.

Yesterday we visited a MH dealer west of Yarmouth, had a good look around, checked out shower dimensions and picked up some 2017 brochures.

Saw an interesting Burstner with no fixed bed, but a good longitudinal drop down which they kindly demonstrated.  Wasn't too high for getting into, and a second double could be made from the seating area if the drop-down is only lowered half way.

Very good bathroom and kitchen too, though the fridge was on the small side.  Weight was not so good, have decided that if we do go for a MH I will take the medical and apply to get my licence back.

Today we visited a MH dealer south of Yarmouth, saw some Chaussons with good showers, but the quality of finish was not as good as the Burstner.  They did have larger fridges though.

After lunch we headed to the Royal Naval Patrol Service Memorial in Lowestoft, OH's grandfather is remembered on it.  He was lost off Aldeburgh in August 1940 when his minesweeper was sunk by a German mine.  Third time we have visited, once with our son, once with our daughter, and now today.

'Interesting' day today. Went to GP surgery for routine blood tests and BP checks. Mr H had an 'episode'. Emergency button  pressed, all nurses and emergency GP came running. Paramedics called and we ended up in A&E. After many tests taken to Ambulatory
Care. More tests and then a long chat with very nice, down to earth consultant who decided it was a faint after BP dropped. Now home and back to GP next week. I just have to make sure he doesn't do too much - not easy.
