quick update on pal's son.....he finally recovered consciousness on Thursday, 11 days after his accident, seems like he is now 'stable', not sure if the pelvis plating has been done, but he now knows about his condition (including the leg) but probably
not able to really grasp this yet......

pals still 'living' at the hospital, hopefully this 'improvement' in his condition will give them a breather, too....

Good to hear there has been an improvement, it will be  a lot for him to take in yet. As you say hopefully now his parents will be able to have a breather. Long way to go but they can do so much these days to help with injuries like these, he
will I'm sure get lots of help and counselling. Family and friends can be such a big help.

Lovely sunny day again today, though it did rain overnight. Busy day too as lots to do. Picked Mum up as usual for a visit, managed to get the last of the washing done, got grass cut and strimmed, front hedge cut, house all cleaned, dusted and hoovered.
Tomorrow need to get beds made ready for the family arriving, not sure what time yet. Smile

Went for a 5 mile walk in the hills in the Dordogne that turned into a 7 mile walk due to an industrial estate that has been built over part of the route shown in our obviously out of date walking guide book.Still, back to the van for lunch then a search
of other sites as this one not to our liking. Moving tomorrow.

Like IanH we've been surprised by the number of French holidaymakers on site not just in 'vans/mhs but hiring chalets. Seems they have a bit more time on their hands and a bit of spare down.

Weather was mixed today but due to be a pleasant 70° is next week.

Another fine warm day. Visited the Lockerbie's Garden of Remembrance before a walk round the Eskrigg Nature Reserve and then into the town. Another walk beside Castle Loch before returning to the van.

The last couple of days have been a lot cooler. We've got up to another slightly chilly morning this morning here in Worthing but plenty of blue sky and sunshine.

Arrived at our next site yesterday. Lovely one, with the touring pitches in a separate area to the seasonals. Great condition, flat pitches and we have a view of the sea in the distance.

There was one other caravan here when we arrived, but a couple of m/h's arrived later.

How long are you staying? asked the nice lady on reception. Two or three nights. No problem. Shall we come back to let you know which pitch we are on? No, don't worry about it, just pay me when you're ready to leave.

And it's £12.50 per night! Smile

Went to Valerie en Caux yesterday, but it rained Sad

Went to Fecamp and then on to Etratet today.....and the sun shone Laughing

Cloudy cooler day. Out for a 3+hr walk round the 3 local lochs. Quite a heavy rain shower about 5 this evening and a strange light now as it goes dark.

Our last day at Forton House CL today. None of this nonsense about selfishly blocking pitches by not leaving at 12!

So a trip out to Forde Abbey this morning -very busy there for the Autumn Spectacular flower festival - and then a walk along two footpaths, the Jubilee Way and the Liberty Way from nearby Thornecombe.

Back for a leisurely lunch and then home late afternoon. Nice 4 nights away an a lovely CL ( will write a review shortly) Happy

and tie which he wore all weekend, rather eccentric i thought, pleasant couple though.

Decided to attempt to fit in a short break in the Scottish Borders, whilst perusing sites and booking one en route CC Melrose filled up before my very eyes. Also discovered the main C&CC sites are still only taking minimum bookings so had to re-adjust northern plans further. Obviously lots of people have had the same ideas for late September breaks!
