Would be interested to hear what made you decide to change.

Kj, I've opened another thread so we can discuss this rather than take up this thread.

Quick catch on here and BBC. I see hot temperatures in some parts of the UK. Weather turning here now, cooler and grey, heavy rain coming according to the forecast .

Still having a great time with daughter's family.  Much more in the way of chilled days, well as much as they can be with a 2 year old .

Good to catch up with all of your news on here whilst all is calm. I'm listening to The Archers, so rather nice

    V. hot here yesterday. Took 2 of the grandsons to Peckover House yesterday.  They had lots of garden games out on the lawns - quoits, giant noughts and crosses, croquet etc.  They spent ages playing with them while we sat in the shade and shouted encourgement.
The gardens looked beautiful.  Off the Boughton House with friends today.  Reading what everyone else is doing in the way of house and garden jobs is making me feel very lazy,Laughing

You really are addicted to 'the island' aren't you? Is it the romance of the 'sea crossing'?

Is anyone else having trouble with getting email alerts for the discussions that they are following?  I haven't had any email alerts for this thread for about 2 weeks now.  I emailed Rochelle last week and she replied that she had alerted the IT dept but
I am still not getting them.

I don't think I have any marked for emails at the moment, but I'm certainly having problems today.  I thought I'd have a go at writing up a 'story' of our recent visit to Germany, France and Italy (see

    HERE
), but laptop keeps crashing.  I only have CC website and photobucket open.  I'm trying to add photos to the comment boxes, as I did in 2014 - it seems the best way of adding photos to stories, but I'm about to give up this afternoon
and leave it to another day.  I've resorted to the phone now!!

I was going down to the coast for a stroll around Lyme Regis this evening but the weather has gone "off" and it feels a bit close and thundery. So I'm staying put. Frown

Spent the morning packing the van and the early part of the afternoon shopping for essentials. Why is it that shops run out of essentials when you run out of time?

Then a bit of "creosoting". Unfortunately won't have time to finish the weatherproofing so have to hope for a nice dry period in the autumn

Hot here today.  Spent most of the day painting.

Moved the van out on the street so I could get to all of the balcony from the ladder to get on with the painting.  Nearly finished, one more day should do it.

What a wonderful day it was today, the sun shone all day and not windy at all. We decided to take advantage of the good weather and go to see the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. Took the M/H with the bikes on the back so we could cycle between the two places,
good decision by all accounts as the roads were busy and it took us less time to cycle along the canal tow path than it took them to drive (and we didn't have to pay to park twice) Wink got
back home at 20.15 lovely sunset tonight the sky and clouds all kind of pinks/reds. We don't often take the van out for a day but it certainly was work it today.Smile

Arrived home about 11:00 to finish off our latest trip. All washing done, dried and ironed. What a blessing a warm, sunny, breezey day is!. Hope it's the  same tomorrow so I can at least start cleaning the caravan.

Wow there have been some warm days in the UK judging by web news, but sadly lots of water related deaths. Warm and wet here.  Forecast wet until next Wednesday at least .

Been swimming this morning, granddaughter requested we all go. She really does well if its just grandma and grandad but if mums in the water doesn't .  Daughter went off for a swim herself and granddaughter is great, mum returns and goes back to not trying
.  She's a real water baby.  Baby lives the sound oioif the water and sleeps.

How did you go on with the  new awning David?

The new awning was great, David.   So much easier than having to man handle rolling up the roof.  We didn't use the sides at all - we actually left them at home - no need when it's very hot and dry.

    David
