Cut the grass in the back garden (not very long, but rain in the forecast), put some weed and feed on the front lawn (to try to achieve a bit of grass between all the weeds and moss).

Booked a crossing on the Tunnel for September.

Krone is not as strong as it used to be, so costs are slightly more  reasonable than 2 years back.

How far north are you going David?

I should imagine the scenery in Norway to be spectacular but I wonder what the roads are like for towing a caravan.

Been to son's house this afternoon to put back up 3 curtain rails for them.  It's an old house so they had to get the hall, stairs and landing replastered last year, so all the curtain rails had to be removed.

Now the rails are up we have measured for the curtains, so OH  can now get on with altering the new ones they have bought.

We are now owners of "new" I pads, son has passed on a couple of old ones of his which the grandchildren had been allowed to use. They are a bit beaten up, but will let us try out the systems, and we can see whether we like them enough to buy new ones.

These days, instead of us passing down things to our children, they are passing their "old technology" up to us!  I got DD's old i phone recently, and OH has our son's old one now.

Most of the roads are fine, after all they are used by busses and lorries.  When I retired in 2007, we spent a couple of months visiting parts of Norway we had not visited before.

Drove north through Sweden and Finland to the Russian border, then to North Cape, and Lofoten, then down to my mother's house for a while.  Coming back we drove all the way down the coast from Bodo to Bergen, visited a cousin, then continued to Stavanger and all round the south coast, with various side trips, and then to Oslo.

Then we returned through Sweden and Denmark, about 6000 miles in total.

We have been twice since then too, with our twin axle van.

Zeebrugge to Obernai yesterday, great site in Obernai, just off A35, nice meal in town square. Then Obernai to Interlaken this morning, All easy as you like.

Superb pitch with views of the Jungfrau... If Carlsberg did caravaning it would be something like this.

Mind you, it is tipping it down now, and probably tomorrow.Don't cry

    Sun from Thursday.

Did some jobs in the house this morning that I hadnt felt like doing in the heat last week. Then met some friends for lunch. Hadn't seen them for a few weeks so nice to have a catch up. Youngest son rang from N.Ireland this evening so had a lovely long chat
with him. Cheered me up after the terrible events in the news in recent days. Day out with eldest son and family tomorrow to Burghley House and The Garden of Surprises.

A bit of a grey start to the morning this morning. We seem to have lost the sun for a while. Just had three cups of tea and some cereal for breakfast and watched a bit of breakfast tv.

We are today at Andalsnes which is our furthest point north on this cruise. Tomorrow we head for Bergen Andaslsnes is a nice little town. Quite a few motor homes parked up Fjord side. Went into a CoOp supermarket today, just out of curiosity.Prices seem to be about 20 per cent higher than the UK but it does vary. They sell beer, £3 for a 500ml can!!! No wine or sprits sold which I think you can only buy in special shops?

We had to anchor in the Fjord and go into the town by tender as a Germay cruise ship had got its towel on the quayside before us!

Spent the past couple of days catching up with jobs around the house and garden, cleaning inside & outside of the van, took Dad shopping, had Lady groomed yesterday (she loves it), Harry's turn tomorrow (he hates it!). Off out tonght to a retirement do for
one of my former colleagues - only one left in the faculty now, so much change over the past few years. It'll be nice to catch up with old friends again!

Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

We did some shopping at the Tesco Extra, Durrington and then after that, I had my afternoon siesta. This was followed by a cup of tea in the awning, sitting in the relaxer.

The sun has come out and it's warming up quite a bit.

It's now getting too hot to sit in the awning, so we're now inside the caravan with the air-conditioning to cool down.

Had a great day at Burghley today with eldest son and family. The grandsons absolutely loved playing in the water in The Gardens of Surprises. After a grey damp start it became a lovely warm (even hot at times) day.

4 hot hot weather wife couldn't cope like me excuse for soft drinks and ice cream!

5 went to hargill house Richmond site motor mover wouldn't work properly as one motor wouldn't engage with a tyre. Not drastic on a flat site but on a hill! Nice site though!

We just use the roof of our awning in summer, allows a nice breeze when sitting out.

If wet, we attach the sides, but rarely use the front, or roll it up/down.

ABM,  the owners of the CL we stayed o  in Suffolk had lovingly restored a steam engine, they took it to a vintage rally while we were staying there, great machine. Smile
