We did some shopping at the local town centre Tesco where we bought a 4 pint carton of milk.  We also bought some reduced price sweet and sour chicken. We have the electric cool box in the back of the car which is running off the12 volt cigar lighter, so that we can keep all the fresh items purchased chilled until it's time to go home. It does mean having to keep the electric on all the time even when the engine is not running. So I always hope that an order will come so that I don't have to stay parked for too long. I don't want to drain the car battery too much!

Here we are sitting on a cl, listening to our neighbour's choice of Vera Lynn, Alma Cogan and other 1960's music. PLEASE respect others who may not wish to hear it and turn it down. Unfortunately, without background noise to drown it out, sound travels a
    long way at night.

No - when asked politely he declined to reduce the volume!

Write your comments here...I thought Vera Lynn was more 40s music.

2nd good day on the trot. Yesterday we walked up past Mitchells Fold Stone Circle along Stapeley Hill ridge and back to th car. I then walked up to the top of Corndon Hill with Flyte. Managed to miss all the rain showers. Today we parked at The Bog Visitor's
Centre and walked the length of the Stiperstone Ridge and then back by way of Nipstone Narure Reserve. Out for 4 hrs so feeling it a bit on the legs  now.

Just had the good news that our grandson has been offered a summer job with Warner Music following his internship there this past year. Then back to studies for him for his final year at Uni. There's a fair chance that he might be offered a position at Warners
when he's finished his degree. Fingers crossed.

Well, we've been to the Tour De France today.  Had an interesting day, in spite of waiting around for quite a while.  We were on the D2, N.E of Cavaillon near Gordes.

Sun out blue skies. Who remembers that?

Car not ready til 10 am which was our request time but champing at the bit now . Its 9.15 now so not long.  Hard to know how long you'll sleep in a strange bed didn't want too early so no rush now I wishing earlier!!  So glad 2nd flight waited otherwise
who knows where we'd be now and trying to sort things . Still free WiFi at hotel .

    Interesting UK news this morning.

Hubby had a shock at airport he smokes a pipe, can't buy pipe tobacco here so brings in sufficient for stay 60 days this time. Even with me being counted still had hefty bill. I would have thought ideal time to give it up . That's his spending money reduced!!!

Very sunny and warm here today......too hot really for working on south facing windows.

We have 25 opening windows here, 22 of them date from when the house was built, so they all have to be inspected.  So that is 2 down and 20 to go.  Hope the rest are not starting to rot.

The front ones take the brunt of the weather, sun and rain, so more at risk I suppose.

Forecast is for rain tomorrow, so no more windows for a bit.

    The joys of home ownership!!

Good to hear that B2 got there, thank goodness they held the connection for you, my sister had a delayed connection to Cuba from Spain and had a 10 hour detour!

Sounds as though you had a lovely time with your grandaughter Milllie and well done to Nellie's grandson. Nice to hear good news!

A very drab, miserable day here in Anglesey today. Managed to get out for a short walk this morning and will hopefully head down to Red Wharf Bay for a potter round later this evening. I get very twitchy sitting around for any length of time. Thank goodness

We have had torrential rain today. Took our dog to the Vets for his bi-annual checkup. He passed with flying colours as usual. Have just returned from an enjoyable long afternoon walk. The wet weather make no difference to our enjoyment. I just put on my winter walking gear and am totally cozy and dry. There's something nice about listening to the heavy rain bouncing off the gore-tex as you walk through the fields beside the small river.

Probably the wimps would stay indoors but they don't know what they are missing.  Nature in all it's guises is fascinating.

    Smile

Most  definitely  a show  to visit,  Brue !!  Watching  it  on  TV  does  not  really  show  the  slope  that  The  Esplanade  has !  How  they  keep  in  time  when  counter  marching  is  beyond  my  {  non  military }  mind

Well woke up to another beautiful sunny day in deepest Norfolk, took another walk through the village with the dog, picked up yet more goodies from the stalls outside the houses. More jam, veg and  even got a fresh homemade apple pie, this time! SurprisedWe
were sorry to have move on this afternoon, Sad but now heading home, now at Cambridge,  Cherry Hinton site as had our last B card vouchers to
use up for a freebie weekend! Happy

Site a bit different from the last two cls, but plenty if rabbits for the dog to watch.Laughing Plan
is to visit the city tomorrow,  will be able to compare it with Oxford. We also seem to have left the sunshine in Norfolk, it's turned very cloudy here now.

Bread on the roof sounds like a good idea, we are on a farm with ducks, geese, chickens running around in addition to the normal wildlife.  He has now turned it down so I agreed not to play my selection of jazz greats (or worsts - depending upon your taste.)
