Sorting out kit after Fishing Guiding day yesterday up in the hills. Was surprisingly cold for July with almost no fly life (Global warming)> Off again tomorrow to Clywedog and guiding there. Hard life and wont be away in the van this week.
I was at Clywedog reservoir a month ago, watching the Ospreys, guess the chicks have grown considerably. It's lovely around there which I really enjoyed.

Great day today, walk was lovely. Stopped off at the Nat Trust tea rooms half way on our Dunwich walk, thanks oneputt for the recomendation. Finished the walk with a pint of Adnams at the Ship, sorry Wherenext missed the fig tree.
This evening we visited Friston where they had lots of vintage cars on display on the green. The CL owners have just returned with their steam engine. Wonderful.

Oh dear, I am in a foreign country where I do not speak the language - nor have had any tuition in it - have left my passport behind.

If you are going to Chirk tomorrow redface, you must go to see the Pontcysyllte aquaduct in Llangollen, it is spectacular! As for " Bless you Wales for understanding my predicament", I wouldn't worry about that....many people who are Welsh born and bred
cannot speak the language!

Thanks for the comments folks. We've had an afternoon at Titisee today. Very warm while walking around, but just a touch cooler now we have got back to the caravan. Almost time for tea - or rather, beer!!!

Thanks Millie. New caravan is fine and we are especially liking our Thule wind out awning. We've taken a leaf out of ValDa's book and left the side panels at home, so we are managing very well will just the canopy. Only rain so far was on a travelling
day. Another travelling day tomorrow from here in the Black Forest to Macon in France.Good to keep up with everyone's news.

Officially finished work for holiday but still have paid holiday to come so technically still employed. Feels very liberated. ? on the final bits of my list . Son partner and dog arrive Saturday for overnight stay, not caught up with him in the flesh
for six weeks or so and longer for her, really looking forward to it. Did last visit to aunt before our trip and tidied her garden another tick ?. Then had lovely Skype with daughter and granddaughters - lounge us covered with toys everyone happy and daughter
laid back, one week exactly until we see them in the flesh, can't believe its coming round this quick.0 -

Up early and left the house for Strumpshaw at 6am, arrived at 6.30hrs walked across railway line, and arrived at the reception hide spent5 minutes watching a heron fishing and decided to head of to the Fen Hide. Stopped at the cherry tree by reception and
pinched one or two before proceeding, 40 yards later it absolutely bucketed down so reversed direction, back to car and home by 0730hrs, still raining!0 -
Oh Oneputt how disappointing. Forecast for here much rain clearing early afternoon, from the pictures, as skyping daughter so sound down! Warm overcast haven't done washing but expect if I do the rain will arrive ?. Maybe today's the day for sorting photos?

The Lake in Llandrindod is a lovely walk around, plus The Hall at Abbey Cwn Hir is worth a visit.

I'm having a day of more or less idleness. There's all sorts gong on outside, moving stock about, getting pens ready for imminent callings, and pens for the subsequent offspring. But, after exhausting myself cooking and baking yesterday there's more than
enough left to feed an army, so I can loll about and read. I'm working my way through all of Ian Rankin's Rebus books. I haven't reread them since I bought them when they were published, and it's interesting to go back to the beginning and see how the characters

Up at 6am this morning to do a bit of work (actually paid work!) then later a trip to the tip with the garden waste.
Off to wash the front of the caravan shortly, then cut the grass, then might watch the cycling (or wait for the highlights? Decisions, decisions......

Just had a topsy turvy couple of days as we've had our 30+ year old hot water system(tank and all) replaced. Had to move all sorts of things so all radiators etc could be drained down. Gave us a good excuse to do some reorganising
all done now, nice neat job, trouble is we've now got the heating on to test the system and check for airlocks. It's a bit warm
a day later, test of new system had a hiccup, radiators getting really hot but no hot water. OH and plumber now chasing air round the system‼? Some very strange gurgling noises

At home with the piano tuner this morning, the dulcet tones of piano tuning have just finished for another year.
Its a long time since I watched the piano tuner fettling up the old upright my sister was taught on ! The tuner came regularly & I just loved watching him work, then he would borrow a tea towel or similar & lay it
over the keys and continue playing merrily, much to my amazement. It was only after I started to go to school that my mates pointed out that the cloth was an irrelevance, 'cos the tuner had been totally blind from birth
== Thats when I first discovered what it's like to feel a "right berk"

Now its my turn to hope for help today
Just got myself working on my nice new Kindle, but altho' I have managed to get it registered & find my way round it reasonably well { Its much different from my original, but thats having problems so its been replaced }, what I am having probs with is the over-sized engineering paws on the ends of my arms !! Does anybody know if Kindles react favourably to the silicon rubber tipped stylii ( styluses ??) I could always adapt a cover to hold one of them if they work well. If not I'll just have to reduce my expenditure on E-books 'cos it'll take ages to type out a book title if I have to correct it 8 or 10 times. Either that or I could order the book(s) before my evening meal which might, just might sharpen my keyboard skills, if not my finger-tips !

after a nice ride to Buckler's Hard yesterday, we mooched slowly upto Brockenhurst via Everton (village
) and Sway.nice pint in the pub and then an gentle cruise back via the disused railway line that crosses the New Forest.
a left turn (south) taking us into New Milton and then Barton on Sea for an ice cream on the sea front...
back to the van in time to catch Raonic taking the fourth set to level things up and then to demolish Roger in the fifth....
looking forward to the Murray game....
home tomorrow for a bit.....

Brian, I've got the Paperwhite and I've just tried it with one of my bargain stylus pens from eBay (10 for 99p). It worked fine in the same way as on a Tab/Pad/phone.

I've got kindle fireand m using a 'prodder' that came with a phone case to type this
Edit it fits I. The earphone socket. Don't use it for this or phone but might've handy for hubbyhe has similar problem. Thanks for the tip.

Hope you enjoy Macon David, I can't say it's anywhere near 31c here but at least it's dry. Have just booked an outside theatre evening with the Illyria company, Midsummer Nights Dream....should be good, will take a blanket just in case!
