Back home once more, decent drive up the road, got home at 4pm,  roads not too busy and no hold ups. Lovely weather here sun is still out, van mostly unloaded, 1 load of washing done and I've even managed a bit of weeding, all the mail has been dealt with
just need to do a bit of filling. Garden not as bad as I feared but will need to do a fair bit of prunning.

The definition of hard work - having a day out with your best mate who has just lost his wife two weeks earlier - funeral this Friday.  Bless him. Not something I would recommend to any one. The depths are unfathomable, the questions need restraint, whilst trying to listen with greatest sympathy. The sun shone, all was well as we discussed the Bluebell Line, steam trains and days gone by - never to return  He will be back in NZ in three weeks. I'll miss the big,  soppy, daft Abo.  Sorry to be a tad mournful  ,perhaps I'll crack a joke next time.  Thanks for allowing me to let off a bit of steam.

You gave your mate your time when he needed it Redface, well done to you!  I am sure that it was greatly appreciated, you could do no more under the circumstances.

Maybe there was no one else daft enough to take the job? No offence intended, Malcolm, but it's a thought?

Write your comments here...The other driver is no longer available to work days. He has another job in the day, so now he only works evenings and sometimes doesn't turn up to work at all. So the boss is stuck. It's either me or the Worthing delivery area
    will close.

Well done such a difficult time for anyone and what you need is a good friend, as you were today, to listen and offer some distraction. Your efforts will not go unrewarded.

It's been a much needed relaxing day today. There was only one delivery to do at lunchtime and after that we spent the rest of the afternoon in the caravan. I slept most of the afternoon and then watched Wimbledon on the telly. The next order came in at 7 p.m. and then 4 more after that. Only half an hour to go to finish work. We also had time to buy some reduced price groceries from Tesco. We got a bag full of it for only 56 pence, all stuff that had reached it's sell by time. As I had banked all my cash earlier, I used my contactless debit card to pay!

Just watched England's most inglorious footy game. Well done to Iceland.  Just goes to show what leaving Europe will achieve eh!  About time time we got a serious squad. How about some capable players that actually go forward to the opponents goal rather
than play ' pretty triangles' when passing the ball? Anyone any suggestions?

Yes , stop paying them ridiculous amounts of money and find players who want to represent our country and be proud of it

We've been home for almost a week so it must be time to go away again - oh, yes, we are - off down to Cornwall for a week in just a short while. Hope the weather's going to behave, there's only so much time you can spend indoors watching foreign teams play
    football!

After we finished the last delivery at about 10:00 p.m. last night, the boss asked us to come to the office to do the paperwork.

When we arrived, it was quite rowdy in the streets outside after England had lost. One bloke was banging his head against a tree trunk. I think there must have been fights breaking out because the police arrived. The boss told us that the police had been
    there twice that evening.

I didn't hang around. As soon as the office work was completed and my delivery fees paid to me, I was back in the car and driving us back to our club site.

Malcolm, when you finally get your pension, will you then not be able to look around for a job that pays a proper hourly rate and once and for all, kick dinnertogo into touch

Write your comments here...They won't let me leave because they can't recruit other drivers that are reliable. The boss begged me to leave Dominos and come back to work for dinnertogo.

This puts you in a very good position to negotiate a pay rise!

Try the cafe at Broadway Tower, BB. You can combine it with a walk to Snowshill and then across past the lavender fields to the Tower.

They have lovely tea and they warm the scones Laughing

They also do some nice looking food (although slightly pricey!)
