Write your comments here...I agree . Still a great entertainer and looks the part.. Great Singers can still entertain even in old age.

Compare that to the rather rotund Elton John. . Can still play the piano But he is a has been as far as his vocals are concerned.

Write your comments here...Nellie i will check my manual tomorrow and see if there is anything mention in it.

Thanks, SELL. Will be interested in what you find.

Write your comments here...nellie have checked the towing section of my handbook and there is no mention anywhere about having to put any mileage on vehicle before you start towing.

Write your comments here...you can go online and download the manual it states that before towing a heavy trailer you must do 1000km first

Just a quick post while Mrs M's not looking! We've had a dramatic change of weather here in Slovenia. Two scorching hot days. Yesterday wevtook a trip down to the two lakes at Bled and Bohinj and then up into the National Park to a truly spectacular waterfall
which the guide said was at its most powerful for years after weeks of rain. Today a long, long walk in the mountains with wide reaching views - wonderful. Relaxing with a well earned beer now.

Tomorrow is a day off the guided walks; we're planning to hire bikes and cycle all the way to Italy (sounds good, but in fact the border is only just over 5 miles away.)

Quick shower before dinner and then I guess we'll withdraw to the bar - that blueberry brandy's not going to drink itself is it? Wink

Should have added that we've had some pictures of Harry & Lady emailed to us this afternoon. Does it look like they're missing us?

Not one little bit! They're in for a big let down when we get home! Laughing

Let's of jobs done this morning, defrosted the chest freezer, and gave it a good clean out. Put the stuff back in the van after its service, changed all the sheets, washed but not dried, weather not too good unfortunately.  Popped along to a village fete
    and dog show this afternoon.

Looking forward to seeing both our boys tomorrow now. Smile

David : Glad you have collected the van, all good for your trip to France now. Smile

We went to an auction preview today, looking at some old Ercol furniture that I'd spotted in the catalogue. Not that we really need any more furniture, but there were a couple of pieces I've always wanted. My husband was a bit reluctant to go ("where will
you put it?" being the cry). But then said he would put the seats down in the car for the sale on Monday. I've got a sort of limit in mind, but it's flexible! I hope no one wants the Love Seat as much as I do! And I'll be on my own; no one to nudge and stop
    me!

It's a Thule 6200, JVB66.  They don't come cheap - supplied and fitted by Rose Awnings.  They travel all over the country fitting these (included in the eye watering price).  We went to the NEC show in February with the specific intent of having a look at these.  We were really keen, and in the end decided to buy a new van as well.  It just didn't feel right to phase it put on a 6 year old van.  Laughing

David It may well be worth ringing him up for advice or going to one of the Caravan and Motorhome Shows - I think they are at most of them.

Yes, the van will be ready.  Sadly we are still stuggling with the car.  Funny whinning noise.  Tried wheel bearings, transfer box looks OK, recently had cambelts done and new tyres.  The mechanics are puzzled.  They ae trying rear propshaft next.  Just
hope we don't run out of time!  Frown

Have to travel to central Bristol early tomorrow, just been told there is a big cycle event on, many roads closed...this happens so many times in Bristol. If they're not cycling they're running..... anyone leaving Baltic Wharf will have fun. Yell

Hope you all enjoy the new van David and the car can be sorted asap.

JVB, we have this awning on our van. here is the gen from the Carthago website re weight....

Aluminium roof awning frame, grey canvas, length: 4.5 m (from model 143) £1,240
    45kg

45kg is a lot to add to a caravan, so check thoroughly.

Seems to contradict what SELL's just said. Will have to have a look at the manual myself I guess.
