I mainly read rarely contribute to this thread, but I can see no problems with Malcs posts. He should be free to post what he wants, it is after all a general chat thread. As to the question of stars, as many have said, I could not really care less.

i dont 'do' the chat section either, but i have to agree with JayEss....Malcolm will be posting about his bowel movements soon, we've had just about everything else....Sad

re the stars......while you, i, JayEss and the rest probably couldnt give a monkey's, Malcolm clearly has a full and intimate understanding of what it has taken for him to be at the 'level' he is now, and what it will take (and over what period) to reach the next one (see his breakdown upthread)....he is clearly on a mission.Undecided

Back on topic. Today we moved from Limoges to Angers. The rivers on approach were very high and we thought we might have made a bad choice, however the site is dry and in no dangerSealed we
like this site. Now some would say we are 'sad' because we are on the same pitch for the 3rd timeEmbarassed but we like it, not too far
from the block yet far enough, both sun and shade, hard standing at the front of the pitch (front wheels are on it ) but nice grass on the rest of the pitch and we know just where to put the satellite dishWink 4
nights here, if weather is kind we will get some cycling done as there is a lovely park next to us and you can cycle all the way into town, lovely.Smile

All I can say is that Milliehull used to be friendly towards me and now she ignores me because of what Tinwheeler said. That's hardly fair, is it?

Fully agree with getting rid of the star system that would stop all the nonsense and bickering well it would certainly help.

50% of today's posts on this thread have been made by one person.

There's a bit in the guidelines about monopolising discussions.

    • Don't dominate the discussion. It can also be off putting for other contributors when someone is dominating discussions, so please let other people have the opportunity to have their say, especially if you are just reiterating your original point. Remember, wanting to have the last word does not necessarily mean you are right.

It's pretty clear that regular contributors to the thread have been put off. How about starting your own thread about your day and people can choose to engage with it or not?

Write your comments here...I'm not dominating the discussion, Jayess. I'm simply responding to what others are saying about me. It's called freedom of speech that is allowed under the terms of the British Constitution.

On CT we have guidelines and T&Cs and we all agree to abide by the rules....otherwise we lose the right to post on here. We are also asked not to feed Trolls and Rochelle kindly reminded everyone about forum behaviour earlier in this thread.

Write your comments here...Malcolm, I will echo what previous people have said. You stay and post what you like. If others don't like it, TOUGH. I started a discussion a month or two ago asking if anyone was afraid to post because certain elements rounded
in a pack  and attacked. All seemed shocked at the suggestion. I certainly skip past idiots & bullies and so must you. You are part of this community just like everyone else so keep posting my friend

Malcolm you misunderstand me. I was only suggesting an option.

It doesn't make any difference to me whether you post or not. I read what I want to read and respond to a fraction of it.

I'm another vote to get rid of the star system too

Sell, re van weights, ours is not much heavier than your so hopefully we'll attain similar fuel consumption as yourself.

Write your comments here...Guess it will be a little bit less as you have gone for the auto.

We will find out in due course. How much milage did you put in before towing for the first time with the D4?

Write your comments here...Was approx 800 miles, no reason for this it was just the first opportunity we got due to work, are you going for the volvo fitted towbar or are you sorting your self with a independant fitter ? i went for the Volvo detachable.

Same here. We are taking the benefit of the 10% discount offered for being a CC member., did you?

Nellie - we used our XC 90 for towing within a few hundred miles of buying it - a trip to Edinburgh in a gale!

I don't recall any restrictions and it doesn't appear to have done it any harm.

Thanks both you and SELL, as we would hope to use ours fairly soon after getting the car. We might even take the van through to Longridge and set off on our Autumn trip as soon as we collect it.
