Write your comments here...Was approx 800 miles, no reason for this it was just the first opportunity we got due to work, are you going for the volvo fitted towbar or are you sorting your self with a independant fitter ? i went for the Volvo detachable.

The visit to the dentist didn't happen. Arrived on time only to be ask "Why are you here your appointmant's been postponed and we texted you"  Seems
the compressor had broken down so I've to go on Friday now. However it gave me time to visit the bank before leaving town. 

Managed to book our first site for our next trip this evening and waiting for a reponse from an e-mail about the next one.

I have to ask, Nellie......what do they use the compressor for?

To drive the jack-hammer? 

 

Ian, the drills etc are all air driven, hence the need for a compressor. One does not want a electric device put into one's mouth does one?

Malc, don't play at being a victim,  if you don't like what people post  just press the report button.  I for one am not going to apologies.  Your agenda is to gain gold stars as quickly as possible and to that end you post multiple replies of inane comments
instead of answering all the queries/points in one post.  Enough folk on here have hinted at your posting, it's so bad now that its a complete turn off.

Malcolm....I reckon those you mention have been members since Day 1, so have had longer to accumulate posts.

They are also long-time caravanners/MHers so have a wealth of experience to pass on, and have given a lot of good advice on sites/travelling/technical stuff over the years.

There are other forums where "chat" posts do not count for anything, IMO it should have been the same here!

Write your comments here...Yes, KjellNN whatever people post in whatever section including fun and trivia all add to their post count. So there's more to this forum than just technical matters.

This forum first started in January 2012 and it's now June 2016. It's so long ago that I can't remember when I first started posting on here but I think it was sometime in 2013 when I was in the process of considering buying  a caravan and joining the club.

Malc, please, for the sake of all of us, including yourself, forget about those stupid little stars. They are becoming an obsession, and I am quite sure if you thought about them less, and just posted some interesting stuff, everyone would be relieved, and
this thread would flow better with a lot more choosing to contribute. As it is, not in anyway trying to upset you, but waffling on about pizzas, dodgy burgers and even to a lesser extent what time you have a cup of tea, is just not floating anyone's boat,
and is not interesting at the frequency you tell us about it.

You have a wealth of caravanning experience, you stay in some nice places, and must have a life away from pizzas and burgers. Why not, once in a while, tell us a bit about this? Without divulging personal information of course.

I could of course be way off the radar here, and you are in fact deliberately seeking to wind everyone up via this thread, but I hope and trust that this is not the case.

Write your comments here...I did write about Weston Park which was a nice place to stay for the six days of the National, HD, yet in the National thread, there were many people that didn't like it because they felt Nationals had changed over the years and were dwindling in attendance. So you can't please everyone!

Five purple is enough for me at the moment. Anyone who gets to gold will automatically lose interest in stars because the increments will go so high that it will probably take a regular and frequent poster over a year before they get to the next star.

If I'm not mistaken, you'll need half a million points to get from 4 to 5 gold. The fifth gold is the end after which no-one can get any further in the star count!

Write your comments here...Sorry, 150,000 from 4 gold to 5. Total points needed is half a million. To put that into perspective, it has taken me over two years to get to 5 purple which is a total count of 100,000. At the rate I post, it would take 10 years
to get to five gold. I just hope I can live that long!

It's been raining on and off here since I first got up this morning. My wife was up until two o'clock this morning as she wanted to get all the washing done. I didn't realise she was up that late because I was in bed fast asleep! This was after an 11 hour
day at work with me. How does she manage it, I ask myself!  On a working day, I find I can't stay awake much beyond midnight!

 

.Thank you, Ian. I'm glad I'm not the only one getting stressed by it all. It all started because I mentioned in the part 2 thread that I couldn't read what was said on page 1003 because it kept coming up with 'planned maintenance' message and still is.
This seems to have unleashed a series of personal attacks against me. I did think yesterday that maybe I should stop following this thread as it was getting rather unpleasant and depressing.

Malcolm, please don't get stressed out or depressed. It isn't worth it. Keep posting whatever you want to, everyone else does, after all. If people don't like your posts, why on earth do they keep reading them......
