Still no orders this evening so we're doing flyers in Coleridge Road at the moment. We had a few orders from the neighbouring Coleridge Crescent, so it seems this area has potential.

How much do you get for delivering flyers, Malcolm?

I didn't actually. Woke up this morning with a face reminiscent of the Elephant man (poor devil). Left work early yesterday with the mother of headaches, slept all afternoon and night only to wake up this morning with a face only my mum would love. Got to
the GP surgery nice and early and got an Appt with a lovely lady nurse who prescribed me some anti-biotic. I HAVE to go to work tomorrow regardless of how I feel or what I look like as I am on call from 8 Friday to 8 Monday. I am a lazy civil servant . Joy

So, if you've already done £25 worth of deliveries, how much would you get for spending a few hours on leafleting?

Write your comments here...They don't expect me to do leafleting unless there's less than £25 in delivery fees. Usually if there is more than £25 worth of deliveries, there's no time to do leafleting.

Previously, when there were two delivery drivers for the Worthing area, there were days when I had only £15 worth of delivery fees. This would cost dinnertogo £10 to make the money up to the minimum £25. So they needed more customers in that situation. However,
the other driver has left so that I'm now the only driver and therefore getting all the delivery work which is effectively doubling the delivery fee that I'm able to earn. So now, even on quiet days, I'm getting more than £25 a day in delivery fees.

Things should improve from next month onwards when I start qualifying for my state pension, as this will add to my earnings from dinnertogo. The difficulty is that with only one driver, they can't give me any time off. So they now require me to work 7 days a week but that also means an extra days earnings, plus tips!

The boss is happy with this arrangement as it means that he gets more time to spend with his family. He has a wife and three year old daughter and so needs time to spend with them.

Our sons are both grown up and making their own lives, so we don't need time off to spend with family. We just need the money to fund our own lifestyle!

The boss gets a fixed salary for managing the Worthing area and so doesn't need to work for delivery fees. Also his wife's expecting another baby, so he's going to need even more family time, especially as he has to take his wife to maternity clinics etc.

Our children are also grown up, but we do still see them regularly as they both still live reasonably close, DD only 4 miles away, and DS about 25 miles away.

DS has 2 children so even more reason to visit regularly.

Much more time for family now I am retired.

I know you need to earn some money to keep afloat, abut work/life balance is important too.

I haven't started work yet today. Still two hours to go but being a Saturday, it's likely to be busy. Yesterday, it was quiet all afternoon and then suddenly got busy in the evening. At the end of the day, we had two deliveries in Lancing.
