Looks like you need an exemption certificate then, Malcolm.....

Write your comments here...I'm registered as self-employed so it seems not. I'll be required to submit a tax return on 31st January and presumably they will notify me how much to pay in class 2 NI contributions up to 18th August 2016.

I would not leave things till the last minute!

You have your 2015/2016 figures so can submit anytime after you have completed your registration.  You still have till January to pay, if there is anything due.

I think the NI depends on earnings, if your earnings are low, you may be exempt, certainly used to work like that when our daughter was registered as SE.  That link I posted does explain how it works, so a good idea to see if you are able to apply for exemption

Hmm, not today, but yesterday. Visited a different workplace with a view to transferring. Really good feel and I want to go. The Manager there is keen to have me BUT, I have had to complete a comprehensive argument as to why they should have me on paper
then I have to sit an intensive 'Board'. I know I am up to the job but just hate the prospect of making a complete arse of myself. Always have, always will. Not promotion, no more money but just a nicer working environment. Is it me? Or do others get like
    this?

    Hi Malcolm,

to save me trawling, where are you? I visit so rarely these days. Keep well my friend

Write your comments here...Thanks Artyboo. We're staying at Northbrook Farm Caravan Club site. We have a seasonal pitch there until 7th November so we go camping in our tent every 21 days for just two nights away.

Been on a first aid course today.  Just finished the CPR test when my back muscles spasmed locking me up completely.  Made for an interesting finish to the course.  Me providing a practical session! Surprised

A day of accounting and balancing the books. Then a bit of fiddling about with our website. But I gave a whole new look a year ago, so it would just be change for the sake of it.

Outside, husband and son have been getting the machinery ready for second cut silage. Tomorrow I'll be baking cakes and pies etc to fill silage workers lunch boxes.

Is anyone else on here at work today?

Do you count cooking as work?

Pork & Apple sausages and local new potatoes for dinner (for 3 hungry men)

Vegetable Soup for me (from the freezer, made previously)

Baked two large slab cakes - Coffee and Walnut, and also Triple Chocolate and Almond.

Then made Cullen Skink for supper with seedy bread made this morning (just the two of us).

So no, I didn't do any real work today.

Just to add insult to injury as they say., I thought I would let you know what my work  plans are for today.  The weather at the moment is cloudy but I have possibly about 3 loads of washing to do   If that drys I will iron it in between the time it takes
to dry I have housework to do hoovering polishing ect ( are you still awake ) hubby will walk the dog , on his return he will shower and take the car for cleaning , with a bit of luck I hopefully will be all soughted so I can watch the tennis, in the meantime
I will also be thinking do we or don't we want lunch Undecided or shall I prepare  some sandwiches

I hope you all agree with me on what a busy and exciting day I have ahead of me and you have all enjoyed reading my Post  Wink

As I see it, this thread was started by Cariadon for Malcolm to post about 'work' without monopolising the 'What I did today' thread. Also,  for those of us who are bored to tears with it, an opportunity to avoid reading about pizza deliveries, a.c. banking
funds etc. but still being able to read interesting posts about what others have done on holidays, in the garden etc. without having to trawl through the inane stuff.  So thanks Cariadon, for the opportunity!  Laughing

Write your comments here...incidentaly taffy I always find what's going on in your boat yard ect very interesting

Roobz - could you not take the car to be cleaned yourself,  between hoovering and watching the tennis?  Hubby could then take the dog for a longer walk, possibly stopping off at a nearby hostelry and thus working up an appetite to do real justice to those sandwiches you've prepared! (Mind you, what's a bloke got to do in order to earn a proper hot meal!!!) Laughing

Malcolm, I think everyone who reads your posts on this thread knows exactly what you did at work yesterday, today, tomorrow. In fact possibly for the rest of the year! It's the repetition of every single delivery that is too much for most! Regarding other
posts about housework etc. I think you'll find that they are not repeated every 10 minutes. In general most people appear to have a soft spot for you but you're in danger of alienating those who offer you good advise. Hope this makes sense to you.

Just taken a phone call from a very nice Indain gentleman ,who told me i had a problem with my computor ,and he could talk me through how to fix it , well i cant have a faulty computor so i jumped at the chance of having fixed, the gentleman told me what
keys to press on the key board, and off we went pressing this and that

Right he said ,has it fixed it ? Don't know i said, should i have switched the computor on first ?, he then uttered some rude word and hung up
    Surprised

Just sold a bag of Bonio and 2  jumbone'sHappy

They must be busy today, Husky, because I also got a phone call from them.

I let him go through all his spiel, then asked him why an Apple computer would be sending error messages to Microsoft (who he works for, apparantly).

    He excused himself rather quickly.

I haven't got an Apple computer, unfortunately. I just wondered......

Just taken the fly screen out of the caravan toilet roof vent to repair......not paid work - does that count?
