Eurotunnel for Free!
It's a long way to Kent from South Yorkshire so never explored the county - just stay for a day prior to tunnel/ferry, so we decided on a break there last week and through Calais Wine Superstore got a free day trip on Eurotunnel. We preordered £256 of wine
(from as little as £1.49) and they booked the Tunnel at a time I wanted - out at 9.20am and return at 4.50pm. Had a short drive down the coast to Cap Griz Nez, coffee in Ambleteuse and lunch back in Calais before picking up the wine (which was ready and waiting
on a trolley). On to supermarche for diesel (1.02 euro a litre) and more goodies - including more fizz and beer! Great day out. Oh and Kent was beautiful. Will definitely do it again.

How about this one instead from Majestic Wines? This runs all year round usually and you can also have an overnight stop ticket. Click here

Another good offer if they have what you want.
Some of these places tend to sell the same stuff that you can readily buy in the UK, but at lower prices......presumably because that's what a lot of people want. Not always the best value (or quality) however....

That offer ends today Paul. After 10 April you get a P&O ferry crossing. Still pretty good, if they've got what you want and the prices are reasonable.
I found their web site a bit hard to navigate - where is the bordeaux?
You're right...and there is a shortage of some wines and thats one of the reasons we ended up in the local Intermarche...

So it is £20 discount (on a pre order of £300 or more) against the cost of a return ticket by ferry or train? Not exactly free but at least you have a choice!
Not sure where your £20 discount comes from but I checked on Eurotunnel site and the cost of day trip was £60, booking via CClub was £53. Although some wines were 'missing', there was a decent choice of wine from a range of countries.
At the bottom of our till receipt it did say we had made a saving of over £500 on UK prices (if thats to be believed).
However, it was a great experience, very convenient to just pick it up and spend a leisurely fun day in France.
