Wheelie bins

As it's in general the quiet period for caravanners, I like most, look forward to getting back into the swing of things. We put our rubish out on a Tuesday night ready for collection the next day. I love taking the wheelie bin out to the front as it's the
next best thing to moving the water barrel. Even if it is not rubbish collection time, I move it around the block just to keep my hand in. The neighbours keep giving me funny looks for some reason but I am happy as when the spring/summer comes round again,
I will not be rusty. Do any other members do any thing similar?

This morning I have been out sorting someone else's bin that has blown over! How sad is that?

Been out and fetched mine from the top of the drive after our rubbish collection and I didn't need a site manager to show me where or how to park it and there wasn't a coloured pitch marker peg.

I like the bringing it back to the House, I open the gate & reverse it down the path & reverse park it-not using the allotted handleSurprised,
I invariably use beep-beep noises(all my own work) to give it some realityCoolLaughingLaughing.
If only I could have a RC unit to play with my life would be complete. Cool thread JDCool

I get plenty of practice as we have three wheely bins and its a matter of doing a lot of towing and reversing, as they are very rarely after being empted brought back to our house or the neighbours,Surprised

Ours were out on Monday (only the recycling),  so are now buched up beside our steps and tied together and to the handrails, to stop them being blown into the cars or the caravan.

    It's wild weather out there!

We all have our strange caravan habits , I have my van outside our cottage , cover on , I only have one neighbour nearby , I go into my caravan at every opportunity , sit and listen to the radio , check the battery level etc .....

And the thing he cannot get his head around is that I remove clamps etc , lift up the cover and move the van with the mover every two weeks

To a new position to refresh the tyres lol

His face is a picture !

Loved the fact that plenty of people in the village put their black general rubbish wheelie bin out for collection on Thursday night, expecting a full collection on the Friday. Doh!

Unless they were all caravanners like John, mmm?

John, this might be the saddest post I've read in a long time.Happy

You are not alone 'jd', and not just my blue wheely bin but the green and brown ones all have pegs for parking, I so love reversing to the pegs it just keeps my hand in until the better weather comes
Laughing I don't to wheely's until 12.00 mind and don't have to go nose in because they are made in 'ull.

Write your comments here...You are entitled to your opinion but come the Summer and we are both on the same site and heading for the freshwater tap, I will effortlessy glide past you (due to my winter practice) and be back to my van while you are still topping
    up.

Why not just block it up for the winter? Then it's not sitting on the tyres at all.

You think some of you have got strange habits. I hear the bin lorry in the street and go out latter to get the bins in and still lift the lid's to see if they have been emptied, and I have seen others in our street doing the same. We all do some strange
    things.Sad
