We have always had a good service from our local council regarding the emptying of our bins, which is once a week for  general waste and every two weeks for recycling, but from october it's going to be every two weeks for everything. Myself I fail to see
the savings with this plan as everyone is still going to have the same amount in the bins, which would mean more trip's with less bin lorrys, or am I missing somthing here.

We.ve just had a letter from our locol council telling us that we are recycling at a rate of 57% waste which is one of the highest figures in the UK.Were on a two week cycle for our three bins (recycle/garden/landfill) and all the recycle waste is sorted
for us at the waste depot. Its a very good system Happy

For us the new system will not be a problem as our two children have fled the nest many years ago, but for a large family who think they will be unable to manage with the size of the wheelie bins that we already use they can apply for a large size bin from
    the council.

There is only Pauline and myself at home but i recycle everything i can so i have the large 360ltr w/bin and its always full come emptying time.On the other hand my landfill bin could go a month and still not be full so it just shows how much can be recycled
    nowadays.Happy

I asked my council who would be responsible if, once emptied, my bin was blown into the road and caused an accident before I had chance to recover it. They didn’t know.

Tried to download next years calendar of refuse collection dates for 2016 today. It's not ready yet on the grounds that bad weather in January may affect collections and that would make the calendar wrong. Would have thought it easy to do alterations as
its only available on line. so we spend a month guessing what is collected and when!
