Club approved sat navs
I bought a club approved Snooper satnav at the newburyshow in 2013.they are supposed to have free annual updates.I cannot get the update without first buying a 8gb memory,as mine doesnt have enough capacity, and when i eventually got to the update they want
£100.my satnav is the caravan version from capitaloutdoors.Has anyone else had this problem please,if so, how did you resolve it.?

send it back, get a refund (quick) and buy something decent like a tomtom, or a garmin....

My friend has a Snooper and all I can say is I'm glad I didn't waste my money on one. On route to one site last year our Tom Tom got us there first time, the next day I was a passenger with my friend using his Snooper on the same route and it was next to
useless. I am however interested in the Avtex CC sat nav. Any feedback on one of these would be appreaciated.0 -
Just bought the Avtex CC satnav and used it last week for the 1st time. I wasn't towing so it was set for car only. It directed me from Gateshead to Fort William with no problems and likewise on the return. The last time I did this journey I was using a
Tomtom and whilst got me there okay on the journey back it had me by-pass Edinburgh and took me over to Glasgow and down the M74! Having the caravan on the back I was reluctant to try going off route!0 -
Why would I want to spend £299 when for £260 I can get the very same product (other than loaded with the CC sites) which you can do anyway. Not as I am about to do either given I have a perfectly good Garmin nuvi 3598LMT-D which does everything (except take
the car/caravan dimensions) the above units do.0 -
Comeyras. I always programme for fastest route, using shortest can take you down all sorts of tracks.
Trepanner. It is my choice to purchase the Avtex satnav, for one thing you get a 3 year guarantee.

I would never buy anything approved by the club, it's usually very expensive and no better that cheaper alternatives. My Garmin cost about £100 and never been a problem. Whenever I look at stuff reviewed in the CC magazine I always think I would never pay
that amount. Anyway you pays your money and you take your choice.0 -

Ian, don't think I said anywhere you or anyone else couldn't make a choice, I just gave my view!

Hi Oneputt, sorry I wasn't implying anything. I was just making an observation.
