Against the working man

If everything was easy when working, would there be anything to look forward to on retirement? The working man, also has to remember the other working man needs a break too, also spare a thought for the people already pitched, if your arriving late, we was in the lake district last year with two young children in bed ready for a reasonably early start home the next morning, when the non cc site let a caravan in at 10 pm that proceed to start to set up very noisely, when asked if they could try to be quiter, I was told it was our problem that they'd woken our children!
in fairness, the OP wasnt asking for anyone (staff) to work late, nor had any intention of going onto site and disturbing anyone, merely to let the staff know they were likely to be late, to stay on the LATE night area, and sort the paperwork out the next morning.
if a club cant accommodate a member in this simple request.....
...If you read the earlier posts then you may? understand

Moulsey , I don't need your help pal , I'm stating what I believe is wrong about your clubs rules , I'm not asking for any of your help just saying I think the rules are wrong and not geared for everyone
Do us all a favour and ask for a refund of membership

To be honest haggis, we can't satisfy your frustration, as broad shouldered as many of us are, but we can try to help you as fellow members in offering advice within the constraints and rules you identify and are clearly fully aware of. Now if you want change, that's a very different thing and may require a different tack!

We've now had 10 pages of members trying to help you.
You have been asked many times to state the destination for your journey - which you have consistently failed to do. Apart from mentioning abroad, which is clearly not achieveable in 2 hours from Lincoln!
Your apparent dislike of Caravan Club rules cannot be solved by the members here. You need to raise this with the Club.
I'm not sure how much further this discussion can go without the same points being repeated ad-nauseum?

micky, wheres the much vaunted Wardens Discretion you keep telling is about....an absolute classic case of where this could be called into play....?
Absolutely BB, I'm all for it but where and when do they call it a day? They, the staff, use their discretion about that too hopefully, Afterall some will try to abuse the rules to the disadvantage of others and they do not deserve too much help!

if I leave work at 5 , get the caravan hooked up and away by 6 , I have 2 hours to get anywhere before I am not allowed to check in on any caravan club site or stay in the overnight bay ( unless , quote .. I have broken down , heavy traffic or Similar )
I think this is prejudice against the working man .
Therefore Is the caravan club primarily for retirees or people who do not have to work ?
I wonder how others, and myself, managed when we were working!! Most of us old farts were members and working before retirement. I guess we cut our cloth to suit and did not expect the workd to revolve around us as if we were the centre of the universe!
Well said, i'm still working, and i'm afraid you just have to get on with it, but i'm sure many of the retired people would rather go back 20 years and put up with a few ties?

Bugs , as I've said once previously I don't need help , I'm still talking about late night arrivals for people who work ! As for people trying to help , I don't see it , just people with nothing better to do than try and impress there cyber mates with clever
comments .Im still saying the late night rule is not good for people who work and have to cover long distances after work , because of this I'll be in a truck stop with trailer fridges running all night and a filthy washroom in the morning . If I was in France
I'd stay in an aire de service. Over here I can't even get on to a caravan club site of my choice which I pay my membership for ..... poor show0 -

You have to accept that you live in the real world.
This isn't France, so whatever is available over there doesn't help you witht the problem you describe.
You have to plan and manage on the basis of what is available to you here in the UK.
It's your journey, your holiday and you have to manage it around what is available.
I can't see the Caravan Club reorganising nationally to suit just you - the Club has many other working members and families who seem to manage.
However, I have brought your concerns to the attention of the Community Manager as it is only the Club that can potentially help you with your problem.

....but youre not talking about the OP here, surely.....?
....and the Warden need do nothing except note that there is a customer (yes, thats what we are....) in the LNA that needs booking in when the office opens...
not beyond the wit of man, however.........
The problem is, of course, that we don't know which site the OP is talking about so we don't know the size of the LNA ( or even if there is one). We do know that he's not likely to be arriving before, say 9 at the earliest. Are we expecting wardens to still
be available then, since it's clearly not an emergency situation?0 -

Yes I am, the OP knows full well that they will not arrive before the stipulated last arrival time and is somewhat critical, or at least dismissive, of us trying to offer help to stay properly within said rules. As said before, if we advocate a rule change
then there are more appropriate ways and means!0 -

I think the OP needs to come clean about which site is involved before we can say anything definite about LNAs, something he seems particularly unwilling to do for some reason.
Of course, if it was the Ludlow area, your post would help immensely, BB!

does the warden need to 'be there'....
are the LNAs inside the barrier?
the one at Ludlow (a well organised commercial site) has it just outside the barrier, complete with EHU and water/drainage.
isnt this the logical place to have one where late arrivals can park up without impacting on the staff....?
then they enter the site next morning.....not too difficult is it?
If there is room for as is required a "booked" site arrival and as said in (if read) earlier posts, not being used as they are there for, a breakdown etc ...

We are a working man and woman. If we are going away for a few days (midweek or weekend), we get the caravan setup the day before. Then finish work at 6:30, away by 6:45, on site an hour later.
Two hours after finishing work we are relaxing with a glass or two.
