Against the working man
if I leave work at 5 , get the caravan hooked up and away by 6 , I have 2 hours to get anywhere before I am not allowed to check in on any caravan club site or stay in the overnight bay ( unless , quote .. I have broken down , heavy traffic or Similar )
I think this is prejudice against the working man .
Therefore Is the caravan club primarily for retirees or people who do not have to work ?

No the club is for everyone! But just step back a little and think about how the club can be expected to manage your late arrival. Many sites have only one couple and sometimes two sets of wardens. But they simply cannot be expected to work all day cleaning,
maintaining and booking people in, and then stay on until late in the evening too!I don't use Club Sites much these days but I think the CC has got that side of things pretty well organised. Most sites also offer late arrival pitches with EHU's so that you can pitch on a temporary spot and then book in properly the following morning.

That's exactly my point , I've a long journey which I want to break up , so I rang to say I would arrive late due to work commitments and explain that I would stay on the late arrivals pitch as not to disturb anyone . They said I can't do that as I know
I will be arriving late and the late arrivals pitches are for people who have had an issue i.e. Breakdown , bad trafficAs I said surely this is discriminating against the working man , now if I'd have booked and then rang up on the day and said I'd broken down I'd be ok to pitch in late night arrivals
like I said , I feel this is geared to retirees and those fortunate enough not to have to work
on the flip side it's fine for these people to head up to site at 1030 am and wait for the best pitches
not happy at all

Davefl2 , the wardens don't need to travel anywhere they're already at work !!!
...So how many hours do you expect them to work?,maybe we should let them do nine to five as well ,and are the "lot of campsites" that let you on 9-10 pm tied to the working time directive as well

What, you want them on duty 24 hours a day because you may turn up at some ungodly hour, and expect them to perhaps drop their tea, walk over to reception, fire up the computer, book you in and return to their tea that they put in the oven.
I think not, everyone is entitled to time away from work and with the club it is usually 8.00pm.

The wardens have a working day like you. Staying with the C&CC recently we were informed that the wardens were not to be contacted after working hours and members had to ring a contact number for help. This could happen with CC wardens in future if they
are expected to extend their working hours. I think we are lucky that they are on call til 8pm.0 -

If you read my posts properly you will see that , as I've said it would be late so I would therefore be on the late night arrivals pitch which is usually outside the site opposite reception , therefore i would be processed in the morning .
So where I expect them to work no extra hours than they do is clear if you read my posts properly !

All you have to do is finish earlier then you don't have a problem.

.Then you also say that other sites will let you on later so what do you want.? as you know as has been explained what LNA is for and there are sites that do not have LNA or very small ,1pitch.

JVB66 you are not getting it ,
They will only let me stay on the late NIGHT ARRIVAL pitch if I've broken down or hit bad traffic or some other unforeseen reason not just that I can't physically make it for 8 as it's to far , get it ?
...WE understand what LNA is for, but it seem you need to use one of the "lots of sites that allow you on at 9 or 10 " your words

So the warden says OK you can arrive at 9:30 and stop in ONA. Then somebody else gets stuck in traffic and arrives at 8:30 and nicks your spot. Effectively booking a late night arrival spot is just not on, they are for exceptional not planned circumstances.
