.......while you are at Ironbridge, it's also worth a visit to the Black Swan at Jackfield. The steak and ale pie is a particular favourite of mine. The pub is also dog friendly, but if you go, it's worth giving them a ring to book a table. It's a relatively
small place. The Stanmore Hall site is good, but you will need to travel in a little.

We stayed at Stanmore Hall many years ago for a long weekend.
We were amazed that we could go through the urbanisation of Birmingham and then quickly pass into some lovely countryside.
There was loads to do in the area and we were impressedby the site and the wildlife that lives on it.
I think we are due a return visit........if we can afford it!

Ian, the Morris Leisure group sites are on 3 for 2 now till towards the end of the year...
in another thread, someone had used them recently and the per night price at (eg) Ludlow was around £14 per night.

About a mile from IronBridge is The Leopard Cl, Benthall, Broseley Has H/S so suitable for M/H's. We've not used it but has been recommended to us.

Actually I think it was £53 for 3 nights which is way too expensive for 2 nights but doable for 3.
Actually, LudlowPark is currently £23.50 per night for 2 people on a grass EHU pitch with a small CC discount.
2 nights will be £47.
you can stay for 3 nights so nightly rate is £15.66.

Many years ago there used to be canoe slalom events on Jackfield rapids at Ironbridge. Nearby was a pub that had a campsite at the rear, can't recall the name. One evening was in the pub when someone came running in to say a tent was on fire, the owner had
a Riley 1500, who was it? My mate piped up it was his tent and asked was it fully burnt down, no other tents alight, no injuries?' 'yes, no, no' were the responses. "want a beer?' my mate asked. Crisis over, nothing to be done so have a drink.0 -

Another vote for this site, can cycle to car park to pick up buses for museums, mostly if not all off road but plenty if parking for motorhomes. Also cycle into Telford, traffic free.
