We're looking for a family friendly site in Dorset near a sandy beach for our summer holidays next year. Can anyone recommend any (non CC sites too) please? We would like to do one week in the area between Lyme Regis and Weymouth and then want to go to Hunters
Moon for the second week. Any suggestions for that first week welcomed

You could try the CC AS Wood Farm at Charmouth. It has a games room, cafe and swimming pool. We've stayed there a few times and it's only a short drive to the beach at Charmouth or into Lyme Regis.

This Autumn we discovered Birchwood Tourist Park which is very close to Hunters Moon but doesn't suffer the same neighbours and is further off the busy road. We found it to be superior to Hunters Moon and it will be our site of choice in future.

This might be worth considering at Charmouth http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/newlands_holidays_park.html  Its not too far to the beach.

These are exactly the sort of places we are looking for. Close to a sandy beach with plenty to do for the children. Can't seem to check availability at Newlands yet though David. Thank you!

Are you aware of the Donkey Sanctuary, Swifty? It's on the main Lyme Regis/Sidmouth road and is a good day out. Free entry and car parking as well. Voluntary donations welcome.

This is one I often suggest as it's overlooks the coast and is within walking distance of West Bay on the coast path. It's called Highlands End see here.

    Seadown http://www.seadownholidaypark.co.uk

Level site in Charmouth - dog friendly and a private access to the beach. Been there many times, highly recommended.

Better to be spoilt for choice than to have no clue where to go Tinwheeler. Everyone has been so helpful! :)

Like Southwest 123 can highly recommend Seadown in Charmouth, a lovely site where you can walk onto the beach from the site.

I can also recommend Birchwood Tourist Park, great family site, we used it a few times when our children were younger, can't compare it with Hunters Moon as not been there. However Birchwood has much more for families and children as well as direct access
    into the woods.
