Pricing
Is it possible to find out prices before sites go on sale on the 7th? most sites through summer i'm guessing might be more expensive than commercial sites if i take 2 kids and 2 adults into account?

Didn't the prices go up a lot this year to take account of the new NMW or should that be NLW? It would be foolish to suggest prices won't go up for 2017 but perhaps there is a chance the increases will be closer to inflation?

I'm not sure if Hillhead fills up on booking night but certainly some CC sites attract heavy weekend booking making it more difficult to get two week holidays at peak times for families. At least with the C&CC and other sites a deposit puts the brakes on "speculative" bookings. We've been here before but I think to ensure a price and a date there are other possibilities out there.

I doubt that Hillhead fills up on booking day but I suspect that, if there was a 12 month rolling booking window, some users would book the same week(s) for the following year at the end of a stay and thereby make it even harder for others.

I can't see how being able to book over a period of 12 months would make it harder for anyone to book Hillhead (or any other site come to that). If you know you want to go to Hillhead on a specific date why have to wait till 7 December to book it? It might
just be different folk who book it instead of thse who do on frenzy day. No axe to grind personally as it's not ur sort of site. You can only put x units onto x pitches whatever the system.0 -
I think that probably happens with a few site users whatever the booking situation. It would be good to know the price ahead of booking day as the OP asked, I hope the prices haven't gone up too much. Do we have a price announcement before the actual day?

We've got stuck on Hillhead but there is a group of very popular sites, the CC lists them and these are the ones that are more heavily booked. I hope we'll see a list of published prices soon.
edit this is all we've got so far but no pricing details. Here

Well no prices from the handbook until mid Feb, so no help there on Dec 7th.
The 2017/18 edition of The Club’s Sites Directory and Handbook will be
with you soon, but a little later than usual. We have a number of exciting projects and developments which will impact upon the content of the handbook,
so the latest edition will be with you in mid February. As mid Feb is defined as soon, perhaps we will get the new forum at the same time.

I get worried when I see the CC mention "exciting"...
or "soon"

We don't have 'our sort of a site' when on a trip Moulesy. We have spent 5 nights at Hillhead in the past - purely because we wnted that location on our travels. Having said that some sites are preferred by us and that is not one.
Sorry, Alan, that expression may have come across wrong. What I meant was that we tend to avoid large sites with bars and swimming pools. So Hillhead is not for us. But I can see the attraction for families in the school holidays. Regardless of which site we're discussing, though, I still don't understand why a rolling programme of bookings would make it more difficult than frenzy day.
Anyway, back on topic, I believe Hillhead prices for 2 adults and 2 children are comparable with, if not lower than, many nearby commercial sites in the school holidays.

We are the same in general as not our preferred site option. We will use them outside school hols though if conveniently located as we tend to spend a fair bit of time off site.
Did you mean Bullhead or have you got my problem of fat finger?

I am in the same position as the OP, school holidays, specific site wanted etc.
I've been in contact with head office and they have assured me that although they are still working on it, the 2017 pricing will be released before booking day

Of course there's always an alternative to Club Sites. The Club's own CL network of nearly
2,400 sites will take bookings year-round. Many CL's boast comparable facilities to a Club Site (if you need them) and generally they are less expensive. The vast majority have EHU, around 50% have Toilets or Showers and many have hard-standing.
Their main attraction (for many visitors) is that a CL is restricted to 5 Vans. If you are looking to book ahead, and haven't yet given CL's a try, I urge you to take a look at the CL network,
search the facilities you require and read the reviews to make your final choice. Some CL's even offer on-line booking and a growing number have WiFi.0 -

Good spot! Corrected it first time and just managed to do the second one before time was up. Bloomin' predictive text!
Is that what they mean by 'the horns of a dilemma'?

Maybe the reverse is true and as we've had "soon" for the new version of CT since this time last year we might just get the new price stucture by this time next year!!

of course the prices will go up due to Brexit
