Not visiting this weekend but use fairly often as son lives nearby.  We think its a great site, steam trains run alongside site, discount if you show your club card or booking, can't remember which! Station almost outside entrance.  Fantastic park on the doorstep whether or not you have a dog. Lakes with yachts to watch while having a coffee. Walk/cycle on paved surface into city itself, also see walk in November mag, although photo is if Ely cathedral NOT Peterborough . Huge railway interchange at Peterborough should you wish to travel further afield. Large shopping mall including brilliant John Lewis, beautiful original centre complete with butter market and cathedral, burial place of Catherine of Aragon. Lots of NT properties within striking distance. You'll have a great time. Just make sure you always secure your property as there have been issues.

    ENJOY, I know you will.

We will being the area the following weekend but staying with son as its Hubby's pensionable birthday

The Ferry Meadows campsite is ideally situated to enable campers to access the adjacent country park and the various networks of cycletracks. It is an easy traffic free cycle ride into Peterborough, which has a cathedral and some historical associations.

The site it'self is a standard CC site with a rally field attached.

We were there at the end of August. The site is in two parts either side of the road to the country park. Both sides are good. If you've got young children the east side has the new super duper play area. It's about a three mile walk down the side of the
railway track to the City but flat. There's no doubt that you'll enjoy this site.

We live just around the corner from it, and although never stayed there (!), there are a lot of nearby attractions as others have said. Pubs in outlying villages imo tend to be better than those around the corner.

just shout if you need any local info.

We live near the Ferry Meadows site and have used it occasionally when we have a new bit of kit we want to try out and also to take the grandchildren away in the caravan.  It is a really great site - I just wish it was further away so we could use it more oftenLaughing  However we do often enjoy one of the many great walks around the park. (maps available in the shop)

B2 That is definitely Peterborough Cathedral.  It is the gateway from Cathedral square.  I know that because the window on the white building to the left was my office.  It was my first job when it was Lloyds Bank.Smile (It is now a StarbucksSad)  I wish they had used a photo of the absolutely beautiful west front though.

We have never been to Ferry Meadows but is one on our list to do.  Just google mapped it and is it split into 2 parts either side of the road?

    Write your comments here...

Yes it is tomorrow.  Each bit is entirely self suppporting so you don't need to go back and forth accross the road for facilities etc. Depends whether you want mainly grass or all hardstanding.  It will be explained to you when you arrive at reception (which is in the west side - to the left as you drive in).

We used FM for first time last February, and very pleased with our stay. Only one side of Club Site open, HS side, lots of grounds maintenance going on at other area. Great location, plenty to see and do, very cheap in Winter off peak. Good safe cycle ride
into Peterborough. Cathedral is lovely. We visited Ely as well, octagonal tower!

There are quite a number of hard standing pitches on the east side .

There's plenty to do around Moreton, hope you have a good time there. We found that the pitches were not as spacious as those at FM, and it can get rather wet under foot if the weather's inclement.
