We taking our caravan to N.I. next year for the first time - we will ultimately be heading up to the Antrim coast.  The Stena Belfast ferry docks at 1830 on a Saturday night. Given the lateness of the hour, we will need an 1-2 night stay somewhere
close to Belfast where we can arrive in the evening. Any recommendations please? We think we will stay around 3-4weeks. Any tips on sites in N.I. would also be gratefully received - thank you.

Welcome!

The nearest I found was Loughshore Caravan Park but we didn't stay there so can't recommend one way or another.

Another idea may be to overnight at Templepatrick services - nothing like the services here.  We arrived at 7.30am and couldn't get on site until 13.00pm so we stopped there for a nap and some food.  Parking is free for 24 hours, caravans included and it
    was pretty quiet.

A good site in Antrim is Ballyness in Bushmills.  Quite a few rules and regulations but a well run site.  My favourite site was Rushin House Caravan Park near Enniskillen.  Co Fermanagh is a lovely part of the world

The Discover Northern Ireland  site might be useful. We stayed at Delamont Country Park which is about an hour from the ferry. It's a nice site, next to a big park with access to Strangford Lough, a good place to get your bearings before heading off elsewhere.

We've stayed at the dundonald site, its only 5 miles from Belfast and very handy for visits.

It has some good up to date reviews on tripadvisor.

    Hello

Loughshore Caravan Park is your best bet as it is run by the local council.  You book and pay in advance and get a code for the gate so you can arrive at any time and a pitch is reserved for you.  Very clean well run site for a couple of days.  Ballyness
and Rushin House are favourites of ours but there is a lovely little CL in Co Armagh called Cusher Valley that was runner up in the CLs Vote last year.  Please have a look at it as it is smashing.  Any questions just ask.

We stayed at Feigh Farm CL, near Bushmills, a couple of years ago.  It was very handy for the Giant's causeway and Bushmills Distillery- we took the bus to the Causeway and then walked back. It is a little cramped if there are large units but had a useful
    shower and bus service.

Forgot - we also stayed at Castle ward NT site which was lovely - you can walk down by the Lough and go into the NT property.  Details are on the National Trust website.
