Just looking at some sites in the Lake District and Coniston park says earliest arrival is 10am !, is that right ?,but that is what it says under the "important information " , so it must be !

This is avery large site and queues back onto the main road would cause chaos so it is a sensible idea as getting everyone in on a busy afternoon might cause a traffic jam in the village.

so, is it all off by 10?...if not, this might be tricky at busy times...

..or are they doing what has been advocated many times.....a trickle feed approach to avoid queues.....assuming some will always be away early (before 10) thus allowing a 10 o clock arrival to be able to pitch?

i only noticed the arrival time ,as I was looking at going to that site from Hawes and thought it would be useful if we arrived there too early , but now if it's 10 there's no problem

Wardens using common sense with the approach to this park being good, spreading out the incomers

May well be. A few years ago we were on a planned tour. First stop was Hawes. We were booked in for 5 nights but went two nifgts early. We decided that we had not used our next venue before which was Coniston. So thought we would change booking and go to
that site a couple of days earlier and extend our stay. We were sat in the caravan but I had the phone number of the sites we were visiting to hand. Rather tan get the sites book from the car I phoned to check if arrival was 12 or 1pm. I was told that it was
not a problem and to come any time after 10am - we arrived there at 11am when we moved.
