2 Cars on a Pitch Whats the Problem ?

In answer to the original question......you shouldn't be allowed two cars on your pitch because it's over-crowding and looks a mess.
If you must have two cars with you (and most don't, really) then park one elsewhere.
Don't make your problem into everyone else's problem.
Regarding the m/h user with the trailer, motorbike etc......no, he shouldn't have been allowed all that either.
Why not? we sometimes travel with our scooter on a trailer. When on a club site both sit in the space that a car would occupy, even if we are on a non awning pitch there is plenty of space. Why do you think that you are entitled to more space then other,
come on Ian we are all members and pay the same membership and pitching costs. No problem at all with that, TG.
But read the op - the person opposite had a M/H, a box trailer, a car and a motorbike.
Now that is just excessive.

Room or not large pitch small pitch, it seems the club are looking at getting more revenue, personally you pay to hire the pitch as long as it doesn't look a mess and your cars / bikes /trailer are parked tidy what's the problem

So you've come here to tell us about your motor collection rather than find an answer to your question. I get it now.

Write your comments here...I had a feeling good that was the purpose of the post originally when he ranted on about security.

Changed my mind now, seems that because you have not got your way you defend your position by attacking the M/H's opposite you. Also seem to be full of it with your 'collection' of vehicles, so go park one of them in the car park and do as you're told.

I have heard the argument that vanners are renting a pitch and so long as the do not encroach outwith that pitch , they can put as many bikes, cars, motorcycles, trailers etc as will fit on the pitch they have paid for.
I have an open mind on the way members use the space on their rented pitch because it's none of my or anybody else's business.
Live and let live !!!

we had our daughter and SIL join us at Sandy Balls earlier in the year....
as we only have one unit (MH) on the pitch, no prob in them parking their car on our pitch...
however, if we'd had a car/caravan on the pitch, i think they would have been asked to park their car in the car park.
i realise not necessarily the same rules as CC, but seems a sensible idea to me...
Double standards here BB? I thought you were in favour of parking the car in the car park? you know less tracfic on site, safer, less noise? and what about the fire safety you kept going on about? It seems that when it suits you you just do what you want. Shame I was starting to believe what you were preaching.
Oh hang on got it, MH can have extra cars, but not caravans?

Seen at Pembrey CC site last weekend, two caravans on one pitch fully enclosed by windbreaks. The second caravan, a small Eriba Puck was being used, I believe, as a kennel for the many dogs. The second towing car was parked in the car park.

If the pitch is big enough and the safety distance isn't compromised then I'm not bothered how many cars or other bits of kit someone puts on it.
The make or model of car is of no interest to me. If someone's muscle or MLC car encroaches into my pitch then I'm not going to be happy regardless of how much it costs.

Oh come on! Don't spoil the thread with squabbling. Will the OP please keep us informed of the ongoing situation. I'm absolutely intrigued. This is way better than The Archers. I hardly ever come on this forum but it's great! I can see I've been missing
so much fun.One thing - if both cars are needed then both must leave site at some time. How do you get both cars back in past the barrier?

well it's not that difficult, you go through one at a time, someone takes the keything back to the one behind, or someone stands with the key entry card by the bollard.

so, one mh, one car....the rest in the car park
one caravan, one car....the rest on the car park.
no extra cars on site for safety
sorry BB total double standards, a MH is a motor vechicle just like a car. so according to your gospel with you can have an extra car with the MH ( BTW why couldn't ask your daughter to walk from the car park, like you're asking others to do?) but not with a caravan, How is allowing your daughter car on site adding to safety? Totally selfish (quote me on that one) IMHO and totally MH focused, no sorry, totally BB focused.
Luckily the club allows two cars on one pitch, so again another reason for you not to use club sites?
End of.

Banff is a regular wind up merchant. Moaning about block booking of weekends last month, that set a lot of members huffing and puffing. Same with this one, with the addition of a Ferrari. (Will get interesting for me if it includes details of towing with
a Ferrari, but I doubt it will!)We saw lots of different arrangements of cars, caravans, motor homes, motorcycles, trailers, side cars, bicycles on pitches when we stayed at Tredegar, all happily co existing and getting on with their holidays. Only briefly though, as we were out most of
day enjoying ourselves.Hope next month's "Banff on tour..." whinge is a bit more interesting. Sorry, but it really isn't a big deal.

Sign outside reception at Ferry Meadows says "Strictly one car per pitch".
I have noticed those on quite a few sites. Does that mean that second cars are only allowed at certain sites, even if the pitches are large enough on others?
Write your comments here... I would have thought it means any extra cars are parked in the visitors car park , that's assuming there is one , I certainly wasn't aware of the 2 car/1pitch rules amendment costs , anyone who visits us always checks in at reception & parks in the visitors car park .ie Chatsworth , Buxton & Carsington waters

I think that visitors would probably expect to park in the car park for free, if they want to park on the pitch they should pay the extra fee, unless they have mobility probelms. The two cars on one pitch are those that probably all belong to the caravan

Is this really worth 6 pages ? Life is too short !

I would suggest that there is nothing wrong with having a "caravan" and one car on the pitch. Be it a towed caravan or a motorcaravan. They both take up the same space.
Why all the animosity against Motorcaravans.??.
Oddly enough, I kind of agree with you K (no, really! ). It works both ways though, there is often considerable animosity in both directions, through ill considered or unclear posting. In this case the perception was clearly the difference in MHers being able to drive on and off site and back to their pitch at will, whereas all vanners were expected to take their tow cars to the car park - hardly a practical plan on any site that I've come across.
As I said earlier or possibly on another thread, it barely regsiters with us what sort of unit is next to us on site or whether they have one or two cars on their pitch. It's really not what we go on holiday to worry about!

You could not do that at one site we stopped at in Holland, unless you used said card to go out again. We know this because someone was having a problem with their card, I think because it had already been used, and the car behind helpfully used their card,
and then also could not get in. Warden called and explained it to everyone. One car only allowed, that is why the system was set up that way. Not sure if the CC card systems are that sophisticated.0
