Hillhead is open until 2 Jan.

I can't be bothered to search any further.

If you need somewhere to stay, we can recommend taking a look at Tranquil Parks and Premier Parks listed sites, great value in Winter months.

As most people tend to visit the mentioned area during "summer peak" i would think as in the case of Looe cc site which now closes but was open all year in the past,it was not viable, we were on a cl near Looe last Xmas it had EHU/toilets and showers we were the only one on and the owner said that it was about normal in winter to have very few visitors,

We have done a lot of Winters in Cornwall down the years, and doubt that it would be viable to keep a Club Site open, except perhaps for the Xmas week, never seems very busy and of course a lot of things just shut down over the Winter. Having said that,
there are some lovely CLs that are open all year, and as I mentioned earlier, smaller sites, such as Tranquil Parks and Premier Park sites stay open, and they are top quality sites. We had a short break in November in South Wales last year, £15 per night for
a serviced pitch, heated loos, showers, laundry, other extras, on a TP site. Smaller, private, no overheads like the Club has to cover.

Making a point TW.  If I can we will be off to Spain but if not a week here and there around the West Country would be nice.

That's rather a strange way of making a point. Why not just say what you mean?

I think the answer has already been given in that demand off season is low. It's been tried and seems not to have worked.

There are sites, as you know, so you'll find something.

A lot of pitches on Devon and Cornwall sites are grass pitches, so not a brilliant idea to use them in winter, as although the weather here is quite mild in winter, it is also very wet.

Some sites are mising a trick.

I know several sea Fyshermen who stay in Hotels and B&B's in Cornwall during the winter months as the Fyshing is so good during the winter.

They don't all own caravans but I reckon a site that advertises itself in the Sea Fyshing magazines that they have easy access to great Fyshing and half decent pitches would do very well indeed.

A new and potentially large untapped market.

Globe Vale, near Redruth is open all year round, and is a really nice site - reasonably priced too.

Why are there no CC Ltd site open in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset during the winter?

UkCampsites lists two or three hundred others open all year in the south west. So who needs Club sites?

There's Kelynack Farm as well that is open all year round. Beautiful spot, deep down on Lands End/St Just area. Seen this site, although haven't used it, got some good reviews though, likely to be quiet as well in Winter. Cot Valley area is very nice, great
    walking, good pubs.

Looe Country Park is a lovely site that is open all year.

There are numerous hard standings, all pitches are well serviced and the toilets are immaculate.
