I see what you're saying Bugs.......the Club prefer to blunder along in blissful ignorance, rather than take any notice of the majority of those who take the trouble to point out where they've got it wrong.

It would be interesting to see how your 'majority' would stack up if the club did a whole membership poll.  I think the majority would not be in favour of deposits. I am not massively bothered either way but would vote against just because it would
make the booking process more complicated and I really dont see there is a need to do that.

Agreed - all this talk of "a majority" is nonsense given the small number of folk who post on what, after all, is just a forum, not a policy making committee. As for "taking the trouble to point out where they've got it wrong" that is also nonsense, unless accompanied by the usual "in their opinion".

Perhaps if the club want to listen to members they should take the most debated topic on CT each month and do a general membership survey on it. Just a simple and cost free survey monkey type yes or no.

Write your comments here...so it would be a round robin of sunday departure times, arrival times, speed limits and dogs on sites..............

No, I presume they would have the common sense not to repeat topics ....but then CC-IT and common sense...maybe not.

I am happy with the way the club booking system works. I see little evidence that it is broken

Is that because you book everything up on "D" day?

Agreed. I book nothing on frenzy day but if I want specific dates I'll book later in December, never failed to get dates we want yet. And best of all, we've been able to pick up a number of late availability pitches over the years. Happy

We do tend to book a fair bit on booking day, or just after. However, to us it would make no difference, we would still do this with deposits. It would just be more tedious and time consuming.

we tend to book our main summer holiday, and the half terms (as I can't go any other time) on D day, but always note there are pitches left at our chosen sites till about Feb/March time.

I have just made a late cancellation.  Due to arrive on saturday for the bank holiday weekend at Great Yarmouth.  On the flip side I have taken advantage of someone elses late cancellation and booked Seacroft instead.  I've been looking all week in the hope
of getting in there, one of our favourite sites.  The booking system has worked just fine for me.
