They may well be, indeed I suspect there will be quite a wide variation in the FX (Fixed Expenses) dependant upon local factors.

I was really just confirming these sites are far from under used, in fact they tend to be the only ones we use these days and we always have plenty of fellow campers to chat to.

.. .I agree our favourite is Notgrove and as is noted you tend to get "proper" members on themWink

I have never had to queue for a shower on site but have had to wait for a privacy cubicle on more than one occasion.

Caravan owners may have cavernous showers but those of us with camper vans and small Motorhomes don't have this luxury and I don't see the point in showering every day when I can have a 'good wash' in the cubicles.

Maybe it's different in the men's block but in the ladies one, or even two, cubicles are not enough and it seems like a bad move to me if the numbers we're to be reduced.

Only ever use the  caravan facilities! See no need for any ablutions block on a camp site nowadays!

The Club has got sites like - aren't they the ones which get few visitors, show no profit , and have to be run by volunteers?

Nope - there are a number of sites without facilities that do a very good trade, Cae Mawr in Anglesey being one of them

Yep been there too and indeed a popular site. I am sure that I have said that I have enjoyed many of the none facility sites. In many ways I gave been saddened when some none facility sites have been 'upgraded' by the addition of toilets

No but I do remember when Bunree was and also Shawsmead near Aberaeron. I might well have been to Sandringham before it had facilities but my memory is not great and It would have been over 20 years ago.

(Suffered depression in my early 40s 18 months after my wifes death and that seemed to effect my memory.)

Thanks JVB. Stange thing the mind. When I was in my late teens I know that I described a man and his front room in great detail to my mother and it turned out to be her father who was dead by the time I was 18 months old. Can't bring back such images now.
Still at least after 9 months and a 2 month weekly counselling session Life became worth living again, and I later set up https://sites.google.com/site/friendsnearby/home

Sorry all for going off topic. Maybe I should have started a thread
