I've never seen anyone using them. In my opinion they would be better served as showers.

If it is not too personal do you shave before you shower? I do and for that reason value a privacy cubicle

OH has a beard but also shaves - he shaves before the shower in the sink at home but on holiday just shaves in the shower.

As a 'cubicle shaver' don't get rid of them completely. Not that I use them much. I tend towards 'No facs' sites and CLs.

I thought the best time to shave was AFTER a shower.

Not always although that might be your preference. In my case I often also trim my beard which is best done dry.

Our usae of non facility sites varies. It depends whether they are on our routes. On the last holiday we used 6 sites staying at least 5 nights on each and 3 of the 6 were non facility. If I have payed for a facility site because it happens to e a CC site
where I wish to stop then I will use the facilities.

In the interests of hygeine every WC cubicle should be combined with a whb.

Not sure why that expense is necessary. If you are worried about the door locks prior to hand washing at the basin provided, surely a hand sanitiser dispenser would do.

That would be a start.  But it's well known that many infections, such as norovirus are spread by poor hygeine.  I would make them all privacy cubicles with a WC, WHB and Bidet.

Saw my first bidet in a Spanish campsite this year!!

I use the cubicles to shave and wash in the mornings and I don't think I've ever been the only one using them. I usually shower in the evening when we come back from walking and I don't remember ever having to queue.

So, yes, reduce the number of them possibly, but don't get rid of them all together at the behest of those who don't use them themselves! Happy

Never ceases to amaze me. The "I never use ******"  so let's get rid of them brigade. Cubicles or grass pitches or non EHU sites or (insert any other point of contention). Total selfishness and disregard for anyone else who might just have a different preference.

Hey, it's a club!! There are other members out there. Give a little and everyone can get along.

It appears from the posts that more men seem to use the privacy cubicles than ladies, primarily for shaving/beard trimming. The ladies are  definitely vacant more than in use..even when there's a long queue for the showers.

...so, not a lot different to the 'weve always done it this way so why change it?' brigade.....even if it appears to be working better 'elsewhere'Undecided

have been on cracking sites with great showers and no privacy cubicles. Both myself and OH prefer to have them. We are happy to use non facility sites but if we are paying for 'facilities' then prefer to have privacy cubicles

Write your comments here...Actually, BB, I agree with you. Both points of view are stuck in their own time warp.

As said previously I think a reduction in Cubicles would help both those who want more showers and those who still want Cubicles.

Well yes, BB, a wash and shave in the morning and a shower in the afternoon after walking - I've always done it that way and why should I change since it impinges on others so little? Undecided

Well, I count two posts from men who shave in them.....heavily outnumbered by those who say get rid of them.

I have virtually never seen them used, but have often seen queues for toilets and showers.

I'd go with the majority and say get rid of all but one in each block.

Yes......one in the mens, one in the ladies.

Even then it wouldn't be used for the majority if the time.

Exactly, Moulesy. I follow a similar regime to yourself, although we don't use CC sites with facilities very often, too expensive, especially in high season!

Given the warnings about very hot water, clearly displayed, it could well lead to some sensitive  first aid skills being required by the wardens.

Neither would the showers. During the afternoon and evening there's hardly anyone using them, so get rid of them too, eh?

BTW whenever I've used a cubicle there's usually been others in use at the same time, so I guess it depends on the time one visits the facilities whether or not you find them in use.

Only ever use the  caravan facilities! See no need for any ablutions block on a camp site nowadays!

The Club has got sites like - aren't they the ones which get few visitors, show no profit , and have to be run by volunteers?

Many seek these no facillity sites out and I know for a fact they are sought after by some wardens.

If the club had a more enlightened policy towards the pricing of these sites they could be some of the most profitable sites on the network as their fixed costs are lower.

The fixed costs of non facilty sites may not be lower as they  probably do not have mains  drainage  so the cost there wiil be sgnifcantly higher

They may well be, indeed I suspect there will be quite a wide variation in the FX (Fixed Expenses) dependant upon local factors.

I was really just confirming these sites are far from under used, in fact they tend to be the only ones we use these days and we always have plenty of fellow campers to chat to.
