Perhaps CC Ltd should follow the example of one of their affiliate sites and designate the slightly narrow hardstanding pitches moho with awning only. The moho could then take up part of the space normally used for a car without compromising safety spacing.
Of course the peg would have to be moved
and a reduction in price made to encourage take up. Write your comments here...m/vans can already use a wind out awning on non awning pitches
True and very sensible, but if memory serves the pitch price is the same so most will go for a full size pitch. Of course, as has been suggested, a price reduction could change that.
Price might have an effect but unlikely to be substantial and not for me. As a guess through the year average pitch fee £6.50 (?) so reduction maybe £2 (?).
Personally I would prefer all to be awning pitches even if that raised cost due to less pitches but for the fact that I book early and choose an aening pitch in most cases

Since it seems the majority of caravanners do use some type of awning, restricting the number of awning pitches would not be a good move IMO.
I would only think that a good idea where pitches are really narrow.
However, changing the size of pitches and therefore having to move the hardstandings would be costly, so it puts the Club in a difficult position.
Restricting awning size might be a compromise?
My experience is that the majority do not use an awning but want a similar area to sit out?
I would say our experience is that most do have some type of awning, though by no means all are full awnings. Many just use a porch or a canopy. We use a Fiamma roll out which is about the same footprint as a porch.
This still leaves plenty of room for chairs forward of the awning itself, and often, on a larger pitch, room to the right of the awning.
If just sitting out, you do not need as much space as an actual awning/canopy.
A price reduction for a non-awning pitch would be a good move IMO, charging the same is not really fair.
Not everyone does not have to worry about cost, so a reduction would be good for those who do not want/need the larger pitch.

if you have constant concerns about pitching on CC sites then quite simply do not go there. OK,we may have had the occasional hiccup in thirty years but on the whole we fit in with the rules. If we don't like a particular site we avoid it.

We note down the rare sites where, for whatever reason, its not a positive experience. We also note down wardens who are - in our opinion - unfriendly/draconian or too lax so we can avoid them where possible too as it does make a difference to a site if
the warden doesnt enforce rules, or males up their own.0
