There are public toilets local-ish to me where the doors are more like saloon doors in a cowboy film .... I believe it's to discourage 'lewd behaviour'

Which does not explain why "it" is lying on the floor! A serious miscalculation of aim perhaps, but very difficult to avoid to get out of the cubicle as the door swings over the top of it. Does explain why these sort of doors are not made to go right down to the floor though.
OH told me she found that in a public toilet in (maybe) Kyle of Lochalsh, many, many, years back, she was totally disgusted!
Why would anybody do that?

In 30ish years of cc touring I have never seen what I saw today.
walking the dog around site yes this is not Blackpool I came to the area for campers.
I approached this area to see a rather large lady squatted down behind her tent having a pee on the grass she quickly stood up pulling up her underwear When she saw me.

Write your comments here...I wasn't going to the name the site I'm currently staying on but I've just come back from the dog walk with a fellow club member and the dog mess we came across a huge amount so close to bin was unbelievable the lady I was with was so anyoyed she cleared it up. The site we are on is Treamble Valley in Cornwall.

walking the dog around site yes this is not Blackpool I came to the area for campers.
I approached this area to see a rather large lady squatted down behind her tent having a pee on the grass she quickly stood up pulling up her underwear When she saw me.
And the CC want to encourage more of this type of camper......

Can someone please explain the notion that has been put forward by someone on here, that cleaning the toilets once per day can mean that the facilities will be just as clean as on a site that cleans them several times a day (and inspects regularly in-between
and invites users to report any problems)?I seem to be struggling with this one.....

Well, you'd have to ask whoever that someone was, wouldn't you Ian.
Personally, I'd be a bit concerned about a site which thought its members were so disgustingly unhygienic that they had to be cleaned up after 5 or 6 times a day!!
( No, you're quite right, I wasn't being serious there, just trying to reinject a bit if humour into what seems to have become a rather tetchy relationship just lately!

Decency and consideration for their fellow caravanners seems to be missing among some CC members.
To leave the public lavatory as you would like to find it is not difficult .
No wonder some of us use our own facilities. They are always spotless.

Ian, you really are no fun any more! I don't think I was the "someone" you were referring to was I so how could I answer your question?
K - it seems your comments about "lack of humour" are just selective then, presumably to suit your sense of humour!
You boys do make me chuckle though - sooo angry!
(And by the way, boys, I do agree with your views on the disgusting individuals who can't be bothered what state they leave the facilities in for their fellow holiday makers - but it's not unique to CC sites is it?)

It really just boils down to that club members are just getting lazy.It takes a few seconds just to check the bowl before leaving the cubicle and use the brush to clean the mess up just like it takes seconds to pick up the dog mess and put it in the bin.

Its not just loos. At Bladen Chains recently I used the facilities first thing in the morning. Skid marks in the loos. Shower left dirty and foot marks on the stool. Cubicle sink covered in shaving foam. All these things could have been cleaned up by
the last person there. I dont expect site staff to have to clean up after people who think that someone else is employed to clean their mess up after them. As it has been stated earlier, how do these people live at home?0 -

Having said that I use CC sites predominately and it is unusual that I find a toilet not lean after use. Maybe because I go at 6.30 am. No idea

I work in an environment where people have their own long term 'en suite' facilities and you would not believe the filth that they are prepared to live in. Consider this though, if one has never been 'taught' how to clean or never been told the importance
of keeping your environmeant clean and 'mum' has always done it (or not in some cases) how, even in adulthood, is someone supposed to adapt to that. We are products of our parents and some have not been as lucky as me (in particular). There is no excuse for
filthy people but there are reasons why people are filthy.0 -
A few weeks ago at Cirencester, I was using the showers with my grandson, I came out of mine and was using the blade when my grandson came out of the cubicle next to me and I passed the blade to him. As he was putting the blade back after use, an "older"
man came out of the shower on the other side of me, he stopped and looked around, "is this what you're looking for? " I said , pointing to the Squeegee in its holder, He ignored me and turned and walked away to the exit. "Now thats how you Don't leave a shower
when you've finished". I said loudly to my grandson, knowing that the member with dirty habits would hear me, alas he had thicker skin than that as he ignored me and carried on out of the wash room. Some have no shame, I hope he is reading this, it may just
prick his selfish mind, but I doubt it

That squeegee is a waste of time really. A gesture as enerally the tiles are knobbled and the blade rides over rather than clearin the water. I am sure that they could design something more functional
I agree......a mop would probably do the job......?

fare comment if shower is small, ours is domestic size so no issue however we also used much smaller shower in previous caravans and MH. We use normal amount of water incl two showers of a usual length of time per day and have never ran out of water from
one full aquaroll.each to there own of curse but I cant remember the Las time I set foot in a public washroom.
