Club members please clean up your acts
I don't really know if this is the right place to start this discussion but having been away since the 17th June and we are now on our 5th site. I really can't belive the mess being left behind in the toilet blocks , toilets have been left dirty not very nice for the next person to use or the warden's to clean up.Would you leave this mess in your own homes? I don't think so . This also leads to my next moan as a responsible dog owner why is it some people can't clear up after there dog. There aren't any poo fairies on dog walks and it's not the responsibility of the warden's either to clear up.I've just been out on our 5th site on tour and the dog mess is just not on so come on club members please clear up after yourselves and your dogs
Moderator Edit:
Your duplicate thread has been Deleted User and this one moved here as it's concerned with CC sites.
Also, as we have a thread dedicated to Caravanning with dogs, we are asked to keep all 'dog related' posts to that thread.
Many Thanks.

come on name and shame the sites?

The OP is highlighting a reason why many caravanners use their own facilities when on CC sites.
The wardens do a excellent job of cleaning the public Lavatories once a day. So lets not go down the road of blaming particular sites.
The disgusting state of some toilets after they have been properly cleaned is caused by filthy members nobody else.

I do wonder what some peoples' homes must be like when they can't even drop it in the bowl. Or is it deliberate just because they can? A rebellion against the rules?

It's something that has been discussed on here many times over the years, once in toilet block a member was coming out of cubicle as I walked past the ness was appalling , YES I stopped her and in loud clear voice gave it to her straight informing her what
a dirty selfish ?itc? She was and pigs had better hygiene habits than her no she didn't clean it found out what pitch she was on and reported
the loo and her to the warden's office .....don't think any thing was done0 -
It is always the few who make it difficult for the many as in all walks of life, and when it is noted are the same people like it at home the the answer is probably yes,my daughter was in a job (not now) that involved entering peoples properties ,she used to say that sometimes it was so bad that it was a wonder the families were not all ill,and yet from the outside of the property you would think they were like "Mrs Bucket"

were the wardens informed? I have found they usually clean things up through out the day, if they are told of course

Yes jv if they want to live like that in there own home that's up to them , but in public toikets ect have they no shame Especially when there's a good probability they will get caught and shamed

...Those sort of people will not "see" the mess

Ahh - another "responsible dog owner " . The mess comes from someones dogs does it not ?

I do agree with the op and their experience.........but it does make you wonder how this could happen on a top priced CC site where the standards are reputed to be impecible.
The commercial sites we were on recently (and most sites 'over there') had tge facilities inspected and cleaned numerous times each day (not just once) and did not rely on the usual refrain (on here) of "did you report it to the wardens?"
I do, of course, agree that the people causing these problems are filthy and disgusting beyond belief......

I would doubt it too. One of the twice in all our time caravanning we have reported people to the wardens was a dog on the opposite pitch let out to poo regularly and not picked up. Told the warden who came after the woman had left to clear it up. When we commented that it was a shame he had missed her he said it was deliberate to avoid confrontation with her. So she left to do it again somewhere else with no sanction.

Do wardens avoid rule breakers because they just don't want the confrontation? Or are they acting 'under orders' from HO?
If the former, they are surely in the wrong job.
If the latter, do Grimstead not realise that, by avoiding upset to one (disgusting) member, they alienate many other members?
Perhaps one of our warden contributors could clarify why rules are rarely applied on CC sites?

Ian you little Tinker, you did state that on the stites you've been on where toilets are inspected and cleaned once than once there was still some mess. Funny how you forget certain things when you want to knowck the club eh?

Where's Lord B when you need him? He was always good for a comment on the subject of mess, human and canine!
Seriously, it's a sad truth that you will get this sort of incident on all sites, possibly with the exception of CLs where maybe the smaller numbers mean less anonymity. One can only really wonder at how folks like that behave at home.

Do we have the same problems of dog poo "over there"on sites these days as when in French towns you miss a lot of the places to see as you are forever looking down to make sure you miss the piles of poo,and it may be on some sites they "check" but most public French toilets are best avoided unless desperate

Is lordy still amongst us? Not 'seen' or heard of him for a long time.
It all comes down to us, and how we behave! My experience is the the staff on sites clean and polish the facilities so well you can see your faeces in them. They, the facilities then are only as clean as the last of us to use them!

Not condoning making a mess but ..... I've noticed that the design of toilet bowls on the majority of CC sites I've been to don't help ie there's a tendancy for it to hit the back bowl first rather than the water
to avoid 'spashback' perhaps

Which does not explain why "it" is lying on the floor! A serious miscalculation of aim perhaps, but very difficult to avoid to get out of the cubicle as the door swings over the top of it. Does explain why these sort of doors are not made to go right down
to the floor though.0
