Thought of another site to add to my list.

Bolton Abbey, Strid Wood there are miles of walks from the site but not on site.

Site at Grassington walks in the Dales.

Maybe the next time the website is updated some form of dog walk grading or rating can be added, perhaps a star rating? In my mind it is as important to know which sites are unsuitable as much as knowing those which have excellent walks. Something which
goes along the lines of no stars for sites regarded as generally unsuitable for dogs (no on site or immediately adjacent walk, such as Blackpool) to 5 stars for sites with great on and off site walking without need to use roads (Grassington?). I would also
suggest the same star rating principal could be applied to other facilities such as children's play areas etc. It would make searching and filtering much easier and perhaps avoid disappointments.

Kendal site...leave via the main entrance and walk along the road to the small bridge great walks across the bridge in either direction.

York Rowntree Park....either walk through the park or along the river bank south from the site you will eventually get to fields or cross the brigde and and walk on the other side of the river bank.

Wirral Site.....Great walk by leaving the site and walking along the old railway line in both directions.

Scarborough West Ayton has a great dog area and you can leave the dog walk at the top end and walk south.

Southport...right next door is a great park and sand hills plenty of good areas.

Penhros on Anglesey has a good dog walking field for first thing and last thing at night.

Burrs leave the site and walk directly into the country park loads of good walks in all directions.

Rookesbury has a good dog walk on site though not as big as it used to be. But you have a gate from the site giving you direct access to the forest.

The worse one we have used so far is Blackshaw Moor. Though that was a while ago, so could have improved.  Putts corner one wasn't great either.

New England Bay is right next to the beach, where dogs are allowed to be off lead and can have a good run!

It's many years since we've been, but I remember there being a lovely walk from the Bunree site which started more or less opposite the site entrance drive?  Someone who's been more recently may be able to give better details.

    Thanks spk, well worth noting....Cool

your welcome Brian this is a great site I first stayed in about 92 when it was in its early days. The walks are really good for dogs the town is quaint and a nice fifteen min walk by road fourty five mins down the river. Railway museum directly opposite.
Site itself is excellent, a little road noise but nothing to intrusive. Very good chip shop in centre of town. Couple of cafes and pubs. Lots of nice drives and walks from the site incl Brough castle. It is a gem.

If you are in scotland, Braemar and Grantown on Spey are both excellent sites for dog walking.

Are they both off site walking allroader ?....Cool

Write your comments here...you just have to cross the road at Braemar and you can walk for miles. At grantown you just have to walk up a quiet road for about 200 yards the you are off road.

Maybe Brian could include non club sites?  I could recommend a C&CC site and a commercial site.

Pennine View sounds good Smile  Haven't been to Kirkby Stephen for about 30 years!

My suggestions for good CC sites for dogs are Grassington (excellent) Southport (OK) and the one south of Glasgow ( memory fade this eve!); C & CC sites include Loch Ness and Scarborough; commercial sites include Ross Park in Devon, and Finkle Abbey near
    Durham.

I think the one south of Glasgow will be Strathclyde Country Park, as the name suggests its next to .... a country park.

Forfar is also good, next to the Loch with a circular 2.25 mile path around it plus woods and parkland.

St Agnes and Trewethett Farm, both have small dog walk areas but have the bonus of miles of beautiful coastal path walking.

C&CC site Ravenglass (Cumbria) has plenty of walks from the site entrance.  Dog friendly pub, just a short stroll.  La'al Ratty narrow guage railway allows dogs.

The Old Oaks, Glastonbury is a superb site for dogs.  Enclosed dog exercise area, dog shower and even a dedicated washing machine and dryer for dog bedding and towels.  The site have a leaflet detailing nearby walks, dog friendly attractions and places to
    eat and drink.

Just to add ... there are walks directly from The Old Oaks to Glastonbury and Gastonbury Tor. The site is adults only.
