OH was looking last night at prices for September,after all the schools are back, for a 4 week trip down the eastern side of England, as far as Suffolk, returning up the west side.
She was dismayed to find that the CC sites were mainly over £22 per night, and some had few. or no, hardstandings. Is September more expensive than May? It feels like it but cannot check as May prices have of course "dropped off" the price panels.
She also thought that there was a poor choice of sites in the eastern coastal areas and, in particular, very few convenient CC sites on the way home up the western side of the country.
Perhaps we need to rethink our plans, and also research alternatives, we do prefer not to exceed £20 per night. Even CLs seem to be pushing up prices well beyond inflation.

More selective who and what they allow on the site though (no kids, rigorous dog policy etc).
Again, will suit some, not others..........

The park we are on is Carnon Downs, incedently a CC AS site, which in itself says something about why you don't know this site yourself.
A further note the CC charge £3.90 for a service pitch that's per night not week, another point to discuss.
If you would now explain your relationship to me I would be greatfull. It's not the ice cream that I'm eating while sat at Maenporth beach that's giving me the shivers I do expect an explanation.

Hey Captain, we love Cornwall, but have never been able to find a site like that at those sort of prices in July/August. Which site is it? We'd be interested as we also have dogs and just a small awning. Sounds ideal.

Ah, Carnon Downs, know it well, shame you're not there later in the year when I run a quiz night for Arthritis Research. Are you getting a discount then? Price guide says £24 for pitch and 2 adults, presumably serviced is extra, but for the OP from August
till 1st September it'd be £38 a night (I believe she said 3 adults) which would be £512 for the fortnight, possibly more if serviced pitches are extra.0 -
Carnon Downs is £159 per week for a fortnight's booking at time of booking fully serviced.

Well Captain, you've been keeping a close eye open haven't you. But maybe you're being a little paranoid? In July/August we very often let family members with children use our static and head off elsewhere in our tourer. So yes, I was interested, particularly if the site you mentioned was in East Cornwall. (Report away, I'll be surprised if you could establish that I was "lying". Why so aggressive for a newcomer?)
Enjoy the rest of your time at Carnon Downs, but, please, try not to take CT so seriously - it really isn't real life you know!

As Ive said before, we love the private site in Cornwall at St Buryan. The site is called Tower Park, it has helpful and friendly locally based staff/owners and very large pitches. Their price per night for most of the year is £16.50 for 2 persons, caravan or MH with EHU etc.
Being peak season from this weekend on, it has just gone up to £21. - (No hidden extras etc.) The area is really great with some smashing small coves and fishing villages etc. For us it is a must, and the site is a delight. It includes a small shop, TV room and toilet block etc.
One useful extra is that the site also offers 5 very nice Static vans for hire, so those friends who would like to visit you, but havent got their own van might be able to use one of those!

As a comparison to using vouchers as open to everyone, I'm currently on a premier site in Cornwall fully serviced for two weeks absolutely free. My credit card cash back open to everyone is paying for it.
With that as a comparison were do pitch prices stand on CC sites?
Using vouchers as shown can't be used in a general discussion.
The two products are not really the same. Cash back on the card and the new points scheme that will replace the current CC card can be used in all or numerous outlets. The current CC scheme is what it says a site night voucher. So if you use one voucher
you are getting 3 nights for the price of 2. Exactly the same as many commercials offer. Although the CC offer is also available at peak. It is a shame it is not continuing. So in August I am using mine to get 7 nights for the price of 4. So overall cost for
the week is £124.4. Excellent value.0 -

Steve if we are to disregard vouchers I could say we recently had the most amazing bargain, two weeks on first class camp sites in France absolutely free apart from a tourist tax of €1 per day , but of course it wasn't, the vouchers came as part of
a package and I am not, going around telling folk camping is free in France .Depends on if you could use the vouchers for anything else David. If as with the CC vouchers they are purely for site nights, I think it as fair to include them in your pricing, as it is to quote a 2 for one discount. The thing is with the CC vouchers,
they do not even have a fixed value. They are for a site night, so if you used them in winter they would be worth much less than at peak.0 -
So using SteveL's argument, AD did have an amazingly cheap holiday in France for only 1 Euro per day
FYI Steve, a camping cheque pays for 1 night no matter how expensive the site is ( as long as they participate in the scheme)
