I also think diesel is too expensive, but I still use it.

The thing is, Ian, if you've got a diesel car there's no alternative to buying diesel but I guess you still shop around for the best deal. So why not do the same with sites? If one considers CC sites too expensive for what they provide then surely one looks elsewhere? Undecided

The thing is Moulesey, we do.

We're on a CS next week.....we cancelled our booking at Bearsted.

We stayed on two commercial sites for two weeks in May, after dismissing CC sites because of the price and lack of serviced pitches.

BB - you'll note that my criticism, if such it was, was not about folk who complain about site prices, more my puzzlement that they continue to use them extensively.

As far as I'm concerned CC sites are good value for us when we use them - but that's far less than we used to, and certainly less than many on here who do complain about them. Happy

Of course, it's entirely up to you what you choose, Ian, but 3 weeks (was it) at Broadway and another at Brighton is more CC nights than us for the past 2 years put together. Nothing wrong with using those sites. I'm just puzzled why you don't use more economical
alternatives more of the time? Undecided

Sorry, but as I see it the choice of site is entirely up to each of us. If the price of a club site suits you then it is nobody elkes business why you do not go somewhere cheaper. If you are happy that is all that matters.

I am going to close this thread for the time being. At 3 minutes to midnight I am not going to start going through it now. I will also ask the CM to have a look. If it reopens no doubt it will be heavily pruned.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to get there before you but Waitrose beckoned early this morning!!!

Could I also make a plea for people not to multi post quotes. If you are answering a specific point cut and paste that into your post and highlight it in bold or italics. I can't see there is any justification to quote 7 previous posts as was the case in
one reply, often with a few words of reply.

I do so agree, it is a shame that people are ridiculed for their consistent choice in using club sites

Campervan person, two adults, one dog in this country, we don't use the CC sites anymore, we use the insurance and red pennant etc. Not because of the price, the sites are just not up to it anymore, lots of other sites out there which offer far more for
your money. We use Flowers Camping in France vary a bit but are value - we use Tranquil Sites or A N Other in the UK. There are just better sites out there now - CC has been left behind trying to plese all of the people all of the time and is just not a club
    anymore.

Write your comments here...There are still plenty of CC members for whom less is more. We will have used 6 CC sites over a 32 night break. Back home for a few weeks come Sunday. 17 nights will have been on none facility sites

...As has been said before everyone has a choice, but as for being left behind it depends what you want, as both the main uk clubs sell hundreds of thousands of nights per year so there are more than enough who are happy wth the productCool

As Bushwaker says its not the prices but the quality that is now failing.

Going down then? I'm sure you said 3 star last time you posted that! Wink

We've just arrived at Penrhos today. By using 3 site night vouchers we'll have 8 nights at a touch under £16 a night. Hardly excessive! Happy
