Just read through all the comments on this topic. We love Hillhead site..superb large outdoor swimming pool, shop, entertainment, very high standard toilet/shower blocks. All in a wonderful location. However, we went to Woolacombe Sands, like Ian, a few
weeks ago and thought it was excellent value. 8 nights on a hard standing fully serviced pitch (with dog!) for £125. Like Ian we had a pitch on the top avenue with superb views of surrounding countryside and sea. Entertainment was good...hubby even won a tenner
on the Bingo! My only 'negative' of Woolacombe Sands were the showers weren't up to CC standard. Pitches and facilities are of a higher standard at Hillhead but you pay for it. Low season, Woolacombe Sands fantastic value for money, and we'll definitley visit
    again.

You must have been there while we were there, Jood.......did you have a little windbreak and put your caravan at an angle?

Hi Ian..I was wondering after my response whether that might've been you next to us? We pitched our caravan at an angle..after some deliberation and if I remember rightly..you washed your car soon after our arrival and left the following day? The pitch you
were on, if it was you, remained vacant for the rest of our stay. Also, I remember you having 2 bikes on the back of your caravan? Small world!

    Yep, that was us Laughing

Car was filthy after a week of the Devon country lanes!

We loved the seaside charm of Woolacombe and did the walk down there on the footpath from the site a couple of times.

We moved on to Sandy Balls in the New Forest on the Sunday.

As you say.....small world! (You're not in Broadway at the moment are you? UndecidedWink)

No..sadly we're not at Broadway. Going 15 miles down the road to Longleat for 3 nights tomorrow. Seeing Elton John there on Sunday. Maybe our paths will cross again one day. Enjoy your stay at Broadway.

Site is almost full only a handfull of pitches available. price doesn't seem to matter for the majority of people. Paighton air show was okish when we the there yesterday. Local pubs put their price's up and everywhere was plastic glasses whether you were
inside or outside. Big burgers were from £4.50 each and the sun actually came out. Not a bad day.

We have just come back from a CL in Much Wenlock in Shropshire. £12.00 per night with awning, electric hook up, water and waste point, in the middle of the countryside and on school holidays. What more can you ask for.

Write your comments here...would that be firs cottage by any chance?
