Misleading information from the CC
The CC really needs to get it act together and support its wardens. Arrived today at Berwick Seaview at 12:40, as did several other vans, to find we should not have arrived until 1pm. I gather this is a fairly recent change, it certainly was not mentioned
on our booking confirmation, made in December. However, more importantly it was not mentioned in the enjoy your holiday email they sent on the 28th May. This clearly states under useful information, earliest arrival 12:00. The web page for the site now mentions
it, but as we have been so many times before I had not recently consulted it. Clearly it is not fair on the wardens who are trying to manage a 1pm arrival, while the CC are sending emails saying folk can arrive from 12 noon. I will of course email the club
about this but thought other future residents should be made aware. Disregard the times in your welcome email.

The happened to me last autumn at another site. My confirmation e mail stated 12 noon but the web page stated 1pm.
I had a print out of my confirmation e mail with me as we were touring, but still got a dressing down from the warden for arriving too early.

The wardens were fine, let us and several others who had made the same mistake onto site. I feel rather sorry for them, they are trying to manage something, while head office sends out misleading information, telling folk it's OK to arrive at 12:00.

What an awful situation to find oneself in. It must have been a frightful worry. I hope it didn't spoil your holiday.

Did not spoil it at all thanks, as I say the wardens were very good and let us on to site. However, personally we like to stick to the rules and if the enjoy your holiday email had highlighted that we should not arrive until 1 pm, rather than state it was OK from 12 noon, we would have done so.

This highlights the inconsistency in the CC's arrival/departures policy.
Imo there should be a standard rule right across the network ------- No arrivals before midday. ------ No departures after 11.00 hrs.
The hour difference will ensure that the approach roads will be clear of outgoing vanners before incoming holiday makers start arriving.

Surely when changes like this happen it should be easy enough to email members who have a current booking and let them know? To me the CC doesn't have joined up thinking.
Given that it is a change in the terms and conditions of your booking you would think that the Club have a duty to inform individual members of the change by e-mail. Not that difficult to do? Surely they realise that few people actually go back to the site
details page once they have made a booking for that particular site?David

Do I detect a trace of sarcasm there?

No just a difficult 100 m on a gradient. Which you can see the full length of. The only reason I can see for the change is too many were arriving before 12:00, which would cause problems with those leaving, as the site roads and entry are narrow, plus nowhere
to wait / turn round. By moving it to 1pm they must hope early arrivals will not appear before 12:00.0 -

Must admit once we've booked a site and read the booking in time I never check again to see if has been changed, and don't bother to read the "See you're going to......." post that's sent a couple of weeks before our due arrival. Perhaps I will have to read
them in future to see if the arrival tiomes have been changed.0 -

Does anyone at HO Bookings have a mobile phone to send the text?

No, we don't get those emails either, or the ones welcoming us home and asking us for a review. Think they're trying to tell us something?
We get both, although they are few and far between!! What does that say about us?

I would have asked him why he wasn't equally strict about getting people off site at 12 noon, as they drift off site throughout the afternoon.

..Just in case you are unaware of the rules, maybe those drifting off site were legitimate, that's if they had permission and were leaving no later than 4:00pm.

sorry have I missed something, was there anyone actually leaving after 12? were there people staying till 4? and did they not have the warden's permission? I can't find reference to this anywhere on this thread, but there must have been otherwise why would anyone want to ask the warden about it?

No mobile phone needed to send text, A computer is as easy for sending a SMS message and can be programmed to do it automatically. I am sure that the e-mails are automated anyway.
Wen our dentists contact me to remind of an appointment etc. I get a text to my phone and also an e-mail to my main e-mail address and one to OH's e-mail which is the only one we check when on tour

If you book and are given an earliest arrival time then the club have agreed that. There is no responsibility on you to check it again or anything else. Not everyone has e mail or even a mobile so if the arrivals are not aware of a change then it is just
something the club has to accept. To be frank this site has been there as long as I can remember so if there is a problem they knew that at the beginning of the season and should have made the change then. It does seem odd that has now changed and they have not even updated the e mails to
show it. By the time people have reached the office any access problem has passed so at that point they may as well let them in.0
