If you compare prices with neighbouring non club sites for a family then the club sites do very well indeed, also some family sites do kids for a £1 which is even better, also there is no price for the family pooch (haven charges £15 per dog per stay) or
awning (again haven are £15 per stay) Add that all up it makes a big difference.

Also the club classes children as up to and including 17, where again Haven it is 15.

Never had to pay for awning yet, and only £1 a night for dog.

well if you go onto the haven booking page there are boxes for dogs and awning at the price updates accordingly

Write your comments here...you will find that you will be charged the same whether you tick the awning box or not, as I said I have never been charged for an awning yet.

Not sure about awnings, but pip is right about an extra charge for dogs - I just did a mock booking for Perran Sands, and including 2 dogs adds on £14 per week - ie £1 per night (not unreasonable, but still £1 per night more than at Treamble ust up the road!). Mind you at almost £300 for 7 nights I'm not going to be taking them up on that offer anyway! Wink. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

I've just done a quick check on Treamble Valley and that would work out at about £160 for the same week in July. No brainer really!

    I stand corrected

Bolero-Made a mockery of the £18-80 St Davids for a soggy wet grass pitch!! We were at Hafan y Mor 2 weeks ago- could teach the CC how to set up a site and facilities dont you think.Perhaps the tea drinkers at HO should go out to see what the opposition
    offers

F - yes, we know, Haven are offerring great deals for those lucky enough to be able to take advantage of them at the moment. And good luck to those of you who do! But this thread is about "peak" prices.

Care to comment on my comparison of Haven Perran Sands and Treamble Valley above at peak times?

Oh, forgot to add, although Haven say "entertainment" included, they also say that some activities are charged extra and ask you to stump up anther £36 or £68 for those!

Mousley - I only deal in realities, would  not be using Haven or CC at peak times so not an issue.Likewise if less use is made of CC sites off peak and Peak has to increase no problem to me.

Write your comments here...that's a selfish arrogant attitude to take ,what about the low income families that caravan ,I bet one or two of them wouldn't mind rates slighlty less at peak times and as for me I have been slated on every post that I have mentioned
about prices ,pitch fees or membership fees ,i am on a low income I have 3 jobs in order to support myself ,get up at 3 am to go to work instead of sitting on my backside raking in benefits ,I go camping as it's the only option for me as I'm single

Some parents take their children out of school during term time so that they don't have to holiday in "Peak Rates". periods.

I have an open mind on this nowadays.  Never took the kids out of school during term time when the children were of school age, I put my childrens educational welfare first before money.

    But .....

I can now see the attraction for many parents to do this. as Peak Rates in high season involves a fair amount of expense compared with off- peak periods

GC, just had a quick look on CLs. There are four with loos, and/or showers in Hornsea area. Most expensive is in £14/15 bracket, and a call explaining that you are travelling alone in a small camper might reap rewards, especially if you book late close to
date? I haven't read reviews, but they all look decent places to stop. Hope this helps.

We did the same but would go the day after the schools closed. Our advantage was that with Glasgow school holidays starting so early we never needed to take them at peak rates.

If we were South of the border I am not sure if we would have done differently.

I can see the peak period becoming longer with all this about taking kids out of school in term,  site fee's do not change that much really in the grand scheme of things, finding a pitch is the greater evil.

I agree the club is not as vicious as many commercial companies in jacking up prices in the peak period but the difference still adds up.
