Which way to go
I am going down to Cornwall later in the month and am thinking of using the M3, A303 and A30 instead of the usual M4/5. Are there good service stops on the A roads like those on the M roads. Do not want to be stuck with no stops.
Thank You

It might help if you confirmed where you were starting from although, from the roads listed, I presume W London area. If you are already adjacent to a continuous motorway route, you may prefer that. There are pinch points on the A303, most notably around
Stonehenge with single carriageway intermitently running from Amesbury to Honiton. You've only got to get stuck behind something for it to become a bit tedious.0 -
From choice, I'd use the M4/5.

I'd agree M4/M5 is preferable - we travel down to Cornwall a lot and always use that route. We also use the A303 to get to places like Putts Corner and as CY says there are a lot of pinch points and it's $od'$ law that we always get stuck behind one of those
skyscraper lorries carrying bales of hay!0
