One thing you dislike about club sites

the thing I dislike is the lack of imagination when laying out the site , a bit more hedging or landscaping could make all the difference and turn it from an open field to series of smaller enclaves  ..

Lack of detailed access off site information available within the site details online. See more of what I mean

    HERE
but it lists more than one thing unfortunately. Regards, Roy

Can't say I've been on a site that looks like a field Husky, some are a bit more open than others. Poolsbrook was like that for a few years but it has now matured and is a lovely site.

If anything I hate dark sites where the trees have been allowed to take over, don't get me wrong I like trees but I also like to see the skyWink

One thing head and shoulders above everything: the lack of the facility to book/secure a hardstanding  (or grass) pitch before arriving on site.  We still only have 4 sites on the network where this is being 'trialed'.  For me this is very important

I agree, DSB.....either that or get rid of grass pitches.

Last time we went to Hurn lane site ,it was about 10 years ago ,that was very much like staying on a field , but it might be different now .....

The appalling wi-fi, only one disabled washroom per site, the MH service points, barrier card/fob units situated too low to reach from a MH, the need to close facility blocks for 2 hours when cleaning should take 45 mins tops, inadequate laundry machines,
lukewarm water at washing up sinks. I expect I'll think of something else.

Number one is the inability to book hardstandings. That needs sorting asap.

Fixed shower heads, lukewarm water in showers yet boiling hot in sinks,  not enough hooks in shower cubicles. No mops

Card controlled access points that use a plastic card that has to be taken out of its wallet to use it and needs precision positioning.

Toilets closed for too long and office closed while they are being cleaned.

Not enough hedges or screening between pitches.

I like the HS pitches, the facilities are clean, most wardens do a good job, sites are pretty well laid out, some of the locations are stunning, the fees are fairly reasonable, no extra charges for EHU or awnings or dogs, booking is so simple.

My apology, that's off topic.Tongue Out

The fact that wardens come and go - fulfilling their job descriptions while they are there, but having no long term stake in developing and improving the sites,  or building up a loyal customer base in the way that private owners would do.

That the warden staff are reticent in upholding the rules that their bosses have decided will make the experience of staying on CC sites more agreeable to their customers. Failure to uphold those rules is a serious offence and head office should go through the disciplinary procedures against the guilty staff.

The insistance on parking next to the white peg. Loosen up we're on holiday, why can't we park the other way around ?

The excessive prices which the club seem to acknowledge with their response to the call I made last week to cancel my membership.

The benefit of mayday cover has been replaced with full Uk and European cover including repatriation with no limits Included with the motorhome insurance.

If I had kept the caravan then i might have kept the membership for the CL sites but with the motorhome we feel it's not necessary.

I love trees too, but don't like being pitched in the shade underneath them in summer. Park Coppice and Kendal are beautiful  places, made more so by the situation in woodland and really close to home for the weekend, unfortunately not for me though.

Those lazy, selfish inconsiderate members that think it acceptable to misuse and abuse site facilities without any thought for others that wish to use them, and the wardens that have to sort it out.
