What is wrong with pitch allocation? Your choice to buy a bigger unit, you choose the site, do your research and know at booking that your choice of pitch could be severely limited, that's if you get any choice at all! The wardens will sellect only the pitch
you will fit on according to your 'needs' not your preference! That's the price you pay for choosing a site with limited pitches for very large units! Take it or leave it!

Of course, there are always those who assume that bigger pitches are 'prime pitches' that, in my experience, is definitely not the case!

so can anyone tell me what's wrong with pitch allocation for larger units, can't really see any advantages except you will at least have a pitch, not necessarily one which you would necessarily choose for other reasons, but at least you will fit on it!

Write your comments here...no that is not a problem, it is when you have smaller unit and they put you on a smaller pitch.Yell

OK - how about this for a cunning plan? Just arrange it for all the largest pitches to be in the darkest, dingiest corner of the site. Folk with large units will be happy to have a large pitch reserved for them and those with smaller units can have a crafty smirk about how nice it is to be in the sunny open areas! Problem solved Wink. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

the problem is of course that there will be some who will 'believe' that these pitches are, they will state, the 'prime pitches'!Wink

Having been in a position when we had what the CC termed a 'larger unit'  being allocated a pitch wasnt much fun at times.   Now bearing in mind the RV was actually  a massive (not!!) 23cm longer than our current twin axle, a lot more manoueverable and could overhang a pitch at the back so could actually fit on smaller pitches than the caravan if there was nothing behind, it was strange that some - not all and in fact not many - wardens made such a song and dance about it.

We had to ring the day before to check we were still allowed to arrive, despite having a valid booking, and on one occasion turned up at 12 and were told if we had not managed to arrive till 4 we wouldnt have been let on.

So its not all a bed of roses for those with so-called 'bigger' outfits, We much prefer the choice on arrival - although the 'out of the way and shady' pitches that others abhor would actually be our preference so please go ahead and make these the bigger ones.
