Toilet closing times

GT, that is not a daft question, that is logic. I won't say more for fear of reprisals! Your expectations are similar to ours, as
would be your division of labour.0 -
Apologies if this is a daft question but if it is blame it on me being a new poster -
Why is the routine to shut reception whilst both wardens clean the toilets at the same time, why cannot one warden stay on reception whilst the other cleans one block for the required time, then swap over?
I think the wardens like to hold hands as they do the cleaning

..I would think that woould probably fall foul of some regulation somewhere and double the times for more complaintsbut as the majority of one couple sites clean am why would reception need to be open?

Woould they not be better cleaning PM, I don't think many people will shower after 12.00pm.
Is the regime run to suit the wardens or the paying customer?

...Then who books the arrivals in on one couple sitesas long time wardens have said how many hours are available to shower

Well I prefer showering in the afternoon/early evening after we've been out for a day's walking.
But I'm not about to start jumping up and down and stamping my feet if the block was closed on our return - I'd just have a cup of tea (or something colder
!) and wait till later. We're on holiday, why have a timetable?0 -

That's it, we all have our preferences and mine is too shower whenever I feel like showering which could be AM, PM and evening. So I'm happy with the Wardens choosing any time they wish and I'll work around that time.
Basically, I ain't bovvered

Surely it only takes one person ( the one who is not cleaning) to book in arrivals?

Well, we shower in the (late) afternoon as well as in the morning. But I'm really not bothered at what time the cleaning takes place, there are a lot of hours in a day and I've never been inconvenienced by toilet cleaning times; it's never stopped us from
doing what we planned to do.0 -

I think the answer is that in an afternoon the wardens are busybooking newcomers in so cannot be spared to do the toilets. Broadway is a large site with I think three pairs of wardens and three toilet blocks so maybe they have the capacity to clean in an afternoon. Not sure though if two are cleaned in a morning and one in the afternoon but there it is of little consequence as you should always have two open.

Broadway is a two couple site with a single groundsperson.

I think that the point is, if the wardens owned the site, how would they run it?
Would they inconveniance their customers 'because that's what we've always done' or 'because that's what the warden's handbook say'.........or would they work around their customers?
I'm struggling to understand why it takes two of them to do the toilet cleaning and why they have to close the office.
And why do they have to close the blocks to clean them? Answer: they don't........but that's what they've always done.
Time to remove that stick from the mud, CC........

BB, I don't understand your post why would there need to be a sign if a lady was cleaning the ladies or a gent cleaning the gents

no doubt the male cleaner has a sign saying....
'cleaning in progress, male attendant'...
and the lady cleaner would have a sign saying 'cleaning in progress, female attendant'....
.and would stick it outside the loos he/she was cleaning, mens or ladies......so it would say who they was, irrespective of where where they were cleaning.
i doubt if he/she would cross out 'male attendant' / 'female attendant' when they were cleaning the loos of their own sex......
...and they cant make do with no sign at all as this would, no doubt, breach H/S.
either way, the point is that loos dont need to be closed during cleaning, even if they are being cleaned by a member of the opposite sex.
Thankyou. I agree with you

one thing that even the most ardent club hater agrees on, what most site reviews comment on, is the cleaniness of the toilets/showers, and this has been going on for years Maybe this isn't an accident but the result of the current method of cleaning? Why
would the club change a winning formula?I don't clean toilets on a large scale but if I did I personally think it is easier to do to the current high standard if they are closed rather than having people coming in every few minutes.
Finally are peple really that put out by the blocks being closed for a max of two hours? On every site I've been to there is either a second block to go to or a spare toilet is open.

No matter if all the loos, or some/one are kept open whilst cleaning staff cannot be available everywhere at the same time! Decisions have to be made I guess, clean toilets, ground maintenance or man office. Even on two couple sites for much of the week only one couple will be on duty to cover all jobs due to days off.

Not a club site, But Blacklands Lake site in Calne, Wiltshire has a very large toilet block! A gents and a ladies door each, however, once inside there is no segregation for either the showers or toilets.
I felt very uncomfortable thinking of using a cubical knowing either side could be men! In fact, I never showered or used the toilets as the walls didn't seem to high either!
